Logo Site: Brutal Honesty Appreciated

Please review http://logos20.com and give me your overall impression.

I've had around 80 targeted visits resulting in 2 orders.

What are my weak points?

Posiibilities as I see them:

~ Logo designs: My logos are designed as well as I can within the low price offered (I could do better, but would need to charge more). Is my logo portfolio lacking, considering my price offering?

~ Guarantee: I guarantee that the logos will be clean, professional and error free. Is this not sufficient? I cannot guarantee money-back, after spending sometimes hours on a design for $20. Still, perhaps people are looking for an iron-clad money back guarantee?

~ Over-all site: Is my site confusing in any way?

Thanks very much in advance for your feedback.

I like it; its not bad at all, and I am going to try you out when i need a logo.

IMO:

1) your own logo is not bad but could be better

2) the examples look good but, in total, seem kind of busy. You should
have few logos that are simpler. Some of the best logos, to me, are
very simple but unique - and once branded, you know at a glance who it is.

3) Consider a window, on the main page, with an example logo in the window -
and it rotates. Every few seconds another logo appears. that would be cool
and not hard to do. use .jpg and small file size and should not be big overhead.

4) what about banners or icons? you should at least have words like that on your
page for seo purposes.

5) at the bottom of your page it says copyright Short Brands. That is an interesting
name, and I wanted to see more - but its not clickable. It ought to be. do you
have other sites? you should have your own hosting, and seo sites maybe.

I've learned to be skeptical when someone offer a product so cheaply.

This is perhaps the first time I don't have anything negative to say about the design of a website. Great Job and will probably use you in the future(bookmarked your site).

You guys are great - and not just for your kind words You took time out of your busy schedules to check out my site and give me feedback, and I really appreciate that.

That's great to hear, aZooZa - thank you.

trez said: "I've learned to be skeptical when someone offer a product so cheaply."
That's a very good point, trez. I tried to make clear that my testimonials were real and verifiable, to assuage any concerns a potential buyer might have (about what you noted and anything else) but perhaps that's not enough. Thanks.

bd77 said: "This is perhaps the first time I don't have anything negative to say about the design of a website. Great Job and will probably use you in the future(bookmarked your site)." That's very encouraging to hear, bd77... much appreciated.

ksinclair, thank you very much for your comments and suggestions.

Agreed. I've planned on improving it.

2) the examples look good but, in total, seem kind of busy. You should

Ah, but there's the rub. Simple, elegant logos usually take time to develop.
I'm trying to target an economy priced logo niche, so, while what you suggest is true,
it's a definite challenge within the pricing framework.

3) Consider a window, on the main page, with an example logo in the window -
and it rotates. Every few seconds another logo appears. that would be cool
and not hard to do. use .jpg and small file size and should not be big overhead.

Actually, I do that (to some degree) with my testimonials on the left side of the front page - but I hear you, and will keep that in mind.

4) what about banners or icons? you should at least have words like that on your
page for seo purposes.
Excellent point, and one I was planning on implementing as i further develop the site.

5) at the bottom of your page it says copyright Short Brands. That is an interesting
name, and I wanted to see more - but its not clickable. It ought to be. do you
have other sites? you should have your own hosting, and seo sites maybe.

ShortBrands.com is not developed yet, but will be linking to it when it is.

Thanks again, Kevin... and everyone.

Ironicly, I like the site, but there is something I don't like... your domain name!

JuniperPark: Thanks for your feedback.
If you have a better (unregistered) logo design .com in mind
I'm all ears

No comment on the website design, which is good already, but I think you will be better off with another name. Currently, your tagline is "Home of the $20 logo". But what if sometime in the future you decide to change your price to, say, $25? Will it be logos25.com then?

So... Yes, I'd suggest you use another name. I have PM'ed you a suggestion

I was just about to post what Hina did -- don't tie yourself to a number.

But more importantly, 1) domains with numbers are hard to remember and 2) without reading your site, the number gives the impression you didn't want to spend any time finding a name, so you just threw a number on the end so you could buy an unregged domain... which is exactly what spammers and scammers do.

A better name would describe what you do. "Bargain Logos", "Logos On A Budget", "Affordable Designs", something along those lines.

Yes, I see domains, but then we all do here
