Need advice for getting members!

I just got VGPros.com up and running and I would like some advice and how to get members. Cheapest way possible

hey- the logo fix up top looks great! you have an area for link friends- start snooping around who els has gaming sites and start emailing offering up link exchanges- you may not get it if they are way popular- you are new- but it never hurts to ask- you might get a few

also yahoo has a gaming message board in there- find the appropriate one and dont go in advertising, but get to know people a bit then talk about your site- pefect place to get some new members-

I've thought about this but I don't know what to give away? I'm afraid if it is worth any kind of money then referrers would only setup new email accounts and register new accounts as much as they like.

Ok lets see who are your end users? people who play video games right..i never believed in paying for people to post because that is just temporary..you should aim at getting end users ..how?

1) Go to other video games forums and register..always post in topics which are popular bring back old threads..put your link in your signature..make 10 posts in old threads which are buried that will get you more attention than posting in new topics..download videos from youtube.or rather go to digg's popular gaming stuff and rewrite them as threads in your forum..that should get your some organic visitors..start rumors like microsoft is merging with PS to make a awsome new gaming platform..there are thosands more..be unique that is the key.
