Country: | Hi guys, I have a few questions.. I recently re-designed a website for a cool little restaurant in Colorado. Rasta Pasta has a store in Fort Collins and in Breckenridge. The restaurant in Breck also has a built in Burrito/Taco kitchen. Here is the site I just redesigned (yes re-designed the prior site was ancient looking compared to this one lol): http://rastapasta dot net (also http://breckburritocompany dot com). The pay was four hundred fifty dollars and that included a renewal for both his domains. It took me approx 6-7 hrs of intense work total. My questions are: For what I was paid how did I do? Who got a better deal? If he did, how much more could I have charged? If you owned a small restaurant/company would you be happy with a site of this caliber? Thanks in advance..! Country: | It looks clean and it seems to all work..good basic layout, I would want more color in the background..maybe red, gold, black, & green ![]() The black is for Africa. The red is for the blood of all living things in the world. The gold is for all of the treasures in the world that people cherish. The green is for the earth that people walk on, to which Rastas feel a special connection. These colours represent the Rastafari way of life. They were often proudly displayed by Bob Marley, one of the leading people in the rastafarian movement. Jah Bless! |

Country: | Thanks Focus. Yes I would like to get a nice background in there and maybe a good Marley, Tosh or Spear song playing on the homepage. Chris, if you're ever in Colorado hit me up, we'll smoke one head to Rasta to talk about domaining over a Red Stripe.. lol |

Country: | I worked for Rasta Pasta for several years and managed the Breck location for one of those years so I have had my fill of that food. It is good stuff though if you are ever in Breck or Fort Collins.. Last edited by nicedomains; 01-21-2009 at 10:41 AM.. |

I second this... You can upload a Marley mp3 to play in just a few minutes. At that price range there could be a dynamic element of sorts - a flash intro, scrolling images, a calendar of events ... not a big deal though maybe update the site for a monthly fee.. charge him $30 a month and then pay someone in Indonesia $5 a month to do the updates... haha jk, don't outsource that.. What else should you do? Have him give you franchising rights at no cost ![]() Last edited by Compassion; 03-04-2009 at 07:28 PM.. | |

Country: | For that design I would pay $10. Not insulting you but just saying its not really a "WOW" Design. Lol paid $450 for that. Congradulation though but just saying he kinda got ripped off ![]() |

Country: | Thanks for your thoughts Chad. I like the franchising rights idea, lol. Albert - Wasn't going for WOW on this one. Ever heard the saying you get what you pay for? Look for a WOW site that was developed for $500 then come back and tell me what you found. Sorry you think this was a ripoff. After talking to some other domainer/developers I actually felt like I undercharged my client. You know, most small businesses pay more than $450/yr for internet advertising alone. To spend that much on two restaurants homepages + menus is nothing. |
