Smile SingerSusanBoyle.com - Thoughts?

GDay Everyone,

I was curious to see what others think of my latest creation:

www.SingerSusanBoyle.com <-- click URL to visit.

As an amateur Developer (and amateur Domainer), I am limited to my ability to make grand-standing sites (yet), but have come up with this humble offering as further study and experience to getting better.

That is to say, this is just a customized HTML template simply laid-out with 5 pages of information (text and images/media) summarizing the latest sensation, Miss Susan Boyle of Scotland, with her recent 'Susan-sational' performance in BGT and on YouTube - setting the World Record for Views in a Week (and no doubt on her way to the all-time record for views too).

Does the design fit the subject matter?

Is it easy-to-read? ...entertaining?

What turns-you-off about this site? ...turns-you on?

See any way to improve SEO?

I plan to add a Photo and Video Blog along with streaming radio and a forum as time permits.

I appreciate your constructive feedback!

PS: Does anyone know where/how I can get one of those strings of Social Networking bookmarking buttons? Cheers!

personally, i hate susan boyle... she's been constantly in the news over here, and for what? singing an ok version of an ok song... but anyway, back to the website! the design is just flowers and green... i would have gone for something with the british flag, or something iconically british, as she was 'discovered' on britain's got talent (although obviously don't use their logos etc) and change the bg to a nice royal blue (British!)
it might just be me, but i like sites to be centered... it makes a real difference for me.
I would also change the background of the advertising to the same as the site background colour.

content easy to read, need to make a logo for the site, or make the site name bigger... only just noticed it.

also, not sure if its my browser or not, but it took about 8-10 seconds to load... way too long.

if you type in on google 'bookmarks' then click on the first site you see to get a 'share' button.

hope you can use that constructive criticism wisely!

Cheers for the feedback - it's always helpful and appreciated!

I intentionally went for a more feminin style than a patriotic one, as I was thinking more global than regional. I believe the fansite susan-boyle.com (not my site) already has a style like your describe, so I tried to be different.

I've been poking around @ the position of the 'main body' but cannot seem to get it 'centered' or even changed to the right-hand side. (As I mentioned, I am just an amateur developer).

re: 'no follow' tags on links - When's best to Use and Not Use this tag?
I used it on the list of news story links on this page: http://www.singersusanboyle.com/we_love_susan.html

...but no where else - What works best for SEO?

I'll be looking into those Bookmarks next - Thanks again!

NostraDomainus is the ads on the top of the page put on by bravenet?
If you need a free host pm me up I wont put any ads.
The ads looks horrondous runing the whole page and the little page is all crushed up and the background takes up 99% of the page.

I appreciate the kind offer Albert (and may take you up on it yet!), but at this time, I am only using BraveNet to get myself up-and-going while I wait for a friend of mine to create an 'add-free' account on their server. Personally, I do not plan to put Ads on the site, but of course, we'll see how traffic/demand goes.

If anything, I will advertise that the 12 or so names and the site are available to Susan for Free if she wants.

re: social bookmarking - I used: social-bookmark-script.com/
Anyone else ever use them?

Anyone know of a Good 'Comments Script' I could use? Free to low cost preferred.

re: Logo - now Bigger based on feedback - Thx again buymydomainuk!

re: UK load-time - I can only assume it's caused by a combo of the site being hosted in NA on a cheap server. As mentioned above - I am hoping this will be temporary until I get other server space set-up.

PS: Anyone know how to 'center' the site, or even changed the main body to the right-hand side (which I assume is a CSS thing with this template)?? If so, I have DNF$ to donate to whomever may be able to help adjust this.

Thanks again Albert!

No problem. I heard her song over youtube and i was really amazed. I should of registered a domain and build a site (you could earn thousands cause i bet millions of searches per month now) but I didn't.
The site looks great though.
