Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!I'm sure you've all seen a lot of Adsense implementations scattered around the Internet lately with pictures aligned with the Adsense blocks. I love this technique and I think that it MUST improve click thru rate significantly. But... how legal is it to do this?
Has anyone had any interaction with an authoritative source on the use of images to draw attention to ads? I know the terms of service specifically prohibit the use of text to draw attention, but the TOS is a little more vague when it comes to images. While this technique may come under the category of "other unnatural means to attract attention...", it certainly is not expressly denied.
So if you've been doing this for awhile now I'd like to hear back any positive or negative experiences. I'm a little bit hesitant to do this myself for fear of getting disabled, but it is sooooo tempting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

There's a thread dedicated to this at Digital Point. It's quite lengthy and has been going on for quite awhile. I'll go and see if I can find it and post a link to it.
I've just started doing this for my dedicated article and adsense sites. But I've put a light border underlining the images so it's a little bit separated and they aren't exactly lined up. - Depends if you get 2, 3, or 4 ads in a 728x90 banner, so I implemented it into the header. But it does improve the look. They are new sites, so I don't have much as far as history to go on, to show any improvements:
My sample sites which I've implemented this on:
myspaceslayouts.com
investmentsguides.com
hairlossguides.com
mortgagesguides.com
Here ya go:
Just found it.
I'd like to have other's opinions and help to improve as well. I have a good CTR, but my traffic is minimal. But my sites are all young.

That is certainly good news about a site being reviewed ay an Adsense team member and being found compliant. I think I will go ahead and begin using this technique in future sites.
Thanks for the tip and good luck with the new sites!
Any other experiences with this among DNFers?

Thanks! I thought that google was the one putting the images on the adsense. Now I know is not them.
