Google screws me over...

So I had to close my google adsense account because I have moved to a new state and cashing my corporate checks is a hassle. I am considering closing my corporation so I needed to start changing things to my personal account. I emailed google about changing the payee name. They stated I can't and that also I can't have 2 accounts.

Seems pretty stupid to me...it's either I own the original account or I don't. If I do then I should be able to change the payee name. If I don't then if I open a personal account what's the problem. Anyways I thought about this for a couple months and last check I got the bank balked at me about cashing it. So this week I started and opened a new account.

I emailed them letting this know that I did open the new account. Within hours (fastest reply I ever got from google) they emailed me saying that they have my new account and my old account is now closed! WTF CLOSED!

I couldn't log into my old account to get any information. I wasn't even sure how much they owed me. Of course I had to also immediately waste the day changing code on my sites..ugh that was a pain. It had to be done I guess so screw it. I did email them about not having access and the next day got a response and they opened my account back so I can get my reports and such. I even had my payment on hold and if I didn't email them they would have kept my loot. So I got it all straight once again.

Now a day passes and I look at the reports...hmm..the day isn't going so well....hmm..a few hours later...hmm...seems like I am not making money..hmm..triple check server with grep command to make sure I have all the sites....hmm yup...hmm...

So all day I am staring at disbelief. My first day with the new account ....mind you this is a full day. I get an average of 7.9 cents a click. I been getting 12 cents a click for 2 weeks now! WTF

So I emailed them just now but I am really ticked off. Do you think google has penalized me for being a new account? Do you think that the older your account gets the more you can earn? I am really peeved to say the least. Overall I stand to lose a lot of money if this continues.

I am pretty sure my situation is unique but I wonder what others think about this. What the hell can I do? I already sent an email hoping to get some explanation from them. One day I get 12 cents a click and the next it's 8 cents! Something is just wrong. My impressions were the same...the sites are the exact same...the clicks are the exact same. So how come I make less money? 35 percent less!

BAH!

Re: Google screws me over...

Hello labrocca,
First of all Sad to hear about all that.

Secondly google clicks revenue are not always the same.

Sometimes it pays you 1 $ so sometimes it pays you 30 cents.

I have the reason to justify that and the reason is that there are not the same ads everyday on your page.

Everyday those ads keep changing with new advertisers so the pay would be decreasing and increasing.

For the 2 accounts, it was your mistake i guess, you shouldnt had emailed them that you had opened a new account and just get revenue as it was.

Because you know they have so many accounts to control so they might overlook on few on the list.

Thats all i have to say , hope its helpful.

Regards
V

Oh i didnt saw the last thing, that the ads were same, maybe they have taken your account on moderation or something.

Dunno but as far as i know ads and revenue keep increasing and decreasing.

Its not 100 % necessary to be the same thing.

Re: Google screws me over...

Scorpio i would not agree on that.

I meant how about switching the bank accounts as where he has moved and email them the new details and tell them to close the other first adsense account?

That would had been better

Re: Google screws me over...

Yeah I didn't want to risk breaking TOS and having my account closed. That would be a severe problem. Also my stats for the past 17 days have been incredibly consisitent. My lowest day was about 10 cents a click average and my best was 14 cents. For the past 3 days before the switch I made 12 cents a click average...so to suddenly get 8 cents a click is rather insulting and I wonder if new accounts get less money. No one has ever thought about this I think. Since no one knows the percentage google gives us. So I am just speculating on 1 day but it makes you really wonder.

I will keep you all informed about my daily clicks and also if google resonds.

Re: Google screws me over...

Labrocca? How about switching to another company as i know your sites have the traffic and would be accepted easily?

Might be good enough to experiment.

Why not use their Beta EFT feature?

Re: Google screws me over...

Well today I am up to 11.4 cents a click average which is back to normal. I am not sure what happened yesterday. I have not gotten a response from them yet either. They may have read my email though and made an adjustment (pure speculation).

I guess I would like to experiment with other advertising venues but I tried revenue pilot and it stank terribly. Do you have a recommendation? I am sort of still learning how to optimize PPC. I don't even really park names. I mainly develop and sell to make my income and let others worry about how the site makes money.

I just bought foremangrills.com on another site for $55. I rebuilt it in a couple hours. It's getting first page results now at yahoo for "george foreman grills" and 2nd page at msn. I am still waiting for google to add the pages to index. Anyways...I would love to hear more input on how to monetize my sites with better ppc ad programs.

I hope to get to a CPM basis since I know that's usually more money. I can do 50k pages a day very easily in my network. Possibly 100k even.

Re: Google screws me over...

Google doesn't have time to manually adjust things.

EPC fluctuates within a big spectrum.

anyways.. nice to nice your EPC is back to normal.

Re: Google screws me over...

Yes it appears I jumped the gun.

Here is their reply.
Quote:
In addition, I understand that you are concerned about a decline in your AdSense revenue. Please
note that switching over to a new account should not affect your earnings in any way. Relevant
advertising should appear shortly after you paste the AdSense code onto your website.

Due to the dynamic nature of Google AdSense, fluctuations in your revenue will occur. Your
earnings will depend on a number of factors, including the types of ads being served to your pages,
the cost per click or cost per impression of these ads, and your users' clickthrough selections.
Thanks for the comments and hey...at least we have a thread of interest here.

Re: Google screws me over...

So 'you' (your business) did open a second adsense account right?

I love how they word it in such a confusing way that a lot of people think it means that 'they' can't have a personal account under their SSN and a business account under their Tax ID; when in fact 'you' can have both of those accounts. They should NOT have closed your PERSONAL account if you just opened a business account, which is a completely seperate legal entity...
