Multiple Domains, One Site?

Hello,

I'm launching a site to advertise myself, the site is a portfolio and i have bought four domains for it...

myname.com.au
myname.co.uk
myname.com
myname.net

I am also in talks to buy myfirstname.com

I have two questions:

1) I was thinking of using the domain myname.com as the primary domain, but should i use the www's or not...

eg:

www.myname.com

- OR -

myname.com

2) How would i write my .htaccess to accomodate for 4 redirects to www.myname.com or myname.com?

Any help would be more than appreciated.

Aidman.

Re: Multiple Domains, One Site?

I personally like non-www to www redirect. Here is the code for .htaccess:

Code:
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [R=permanent,L]

Re: Multiple Domains, One Site?

If all sites are going to have the same content which I suspect.. You would be better off doing 301 Redirects.. otherwise Sites Like Google Will drop you for duplicate Content..

Re: Multiple Domains, One Site?

I would save the .net site from redirecting.. Make the home page look the same, then put your link partners on there.. This way you have no outgoing links on your main site (will boost your PR).. when you have many incomming and a few outgoing... see dogeats.com and dogeats.net . This is a very hot new SEO trick.
