DNF$: 145 Location: san carlos, CA | Question about having a unique IP for a site, re: SEO I read that if you have your developed site on its own unique IP, that it will get you higher PR. That would seem reasonable even if the effect was not huge. Can you have more than one site sharing that IP? Surely most big companies like CNN Or Yahoo dont have a unqiue IP for each and every site. So how many sites can share an IP, assuming they are each unique and well developed? All running on the same virtual server. Thanks, Kevin

Country: | Yes a dedicated IP can help, but many websites can share a single IP Address. Most big companies have many IP Address and a lot of small companies do too. I have more than 10 IP's on 3 different servers currently. When is comes to having a Dedicated IP address and SEO it is not a huge deal, but it can make a difference. IP Addresses are cheap, so when and if you can afford it, it would be advisable to use a dedicated IP address to help with SEO, but other factors are much more important.
