are these keywords good?

I'm trying to get the best keywords as possible for my joke site. I was told that you can't use the same keyword more than 3 times. :(

joke, humor, funny, Hilarious, good, stupid, short, holiday, joke of the Day, adult, kids, best, bad, one line, free jokes, clean jokes, yo mama, april fools

Your previous list is to broad.

Single words don't do so well. Short phrases of 2-4 words work much better, as shown in the list given to you by MARO.

Also ask friends and family what they would type in a SE to find a site about jokes.

Correct cursal, I always try and start out with 2 and three words. Once you have accomplished the ranking that you want, target the one worders, i.e. taser guns .. once number one I go to target taser.

Even better is to target very specific words it they are at all showing up in your logs.

I.E target taser--> AIR TASER 34000---> AIR TASER 34000 with 7-14 Watt range

Use those logs and stats. DCG talked about the importance of stats in his last Newsletter, best to heed such advise.
