| Gold Lifetime Member | webpage 'extensions' -Difference between naming .htm .html and / ? What is the difference in naming the end of a page from .htm .html and / ? For example 1) www.mysite.com/marketing-2009.htm or 2) www. mysite.com/marketing-2009.html or 3) www. mysite.com/marketing-2009 Is there a significance to naming the extension .htm or .html for the SEO or site structure?? or can we just get away with nothing (like in example 3 above). Number 3) looks the most attractive, so can you use number 3 - with NO html or no htm at the end of the link? or is this bad for SEO or somthing? or has no affect on SEO? and what are the benifits for naming your page .htm and .html and benifits of naming it Neither (making it blank, like (3) ) This is a link/seo question... |

Country: | go with #3 if you can..... it will create a more consistent site structure which the search engines do appreciate as for having it .htm or .html or whatever else... there really is no "benefit" from this this bits and pieces don't really matter... visuals and aesthetics focus on the actual content good luck, |
