Credit Card charged for nothing

Why has Pool charged me $60 simply for changing my CC details ?.
How long do these people take to pay back ? I shall think three times
before using again. Never ever had probs with Snapnames or Namejet.

call visa and report them, visa will refund the money, if you tell them you did not authorize the transaction.

It is a process by Pool to charge the amount for $60 to verify your crediut card authenticity.

They will rollback the charges post verification.

https://www.pool.com/CreateAccount.aspx

As per the user registration form:

"Please note that Pool.com will pre-authorize your credit card in the amount of US $60 to ensure that your credit card is valid. Your credit card will not actually be charged unless you purchase a product or service from Pool.com"

Yes I know says that, BUT they actually took $60 from the Card
and it still shows as being not returned. Also have sent email
to Pool, who are VERY quick to say "if you dont pay in 2 days you
will lose the domain" but when reversed they dont seem too quick.

oh!

it seems you must have clicked on the particular domain and it must have automatically gone for a backorder!!!

This is a real bad bad way of Pool to get the domain backordered .

It happens when you have subscribed to a hotlist, deleted domain list etc or in the list of domains in their search, you might have clicked on a domain name

I do not know how legal that is , but the backorder happens automatically without any user 2nd confirmation)

I have adownloaded all their T&C, PP, forms details, every single text as of today and reviewing it.

I have got 1 domain on backorder but as with the others
I do NOT expect to pay for it until and unless they
catch it. I hope they are prompt paying the money
back or they will have lost another client for sure.

Pool is a first class backordering service. You will easily resolve this issue by contacting them...no reason to post this on a forum.

Everyone posts everything on a forum here these days rather than contacting the actual company and solving the issue.

I'd agree that they put a hold on the $60 as a temp auth b/c if they do catch a name and you do not have the funds, they are out money. If you do not backorder the domain it should fall off in a few days. Keep in mind Monday is a holiday, so if it was charged today, you won't likely see it removed until the end of this week or the beginning of next.

I dont dispute they are good, but I hope they are quick resolving as they
are to send chasing email for payment when do win one.
I was just a bit peeved to see they had taken the US$60 unexpectedly
when I was using a pay as you go card. I used the card also to pay for
another domain and found it wasnt regged because pool had taken
$60 I didnt expect them to take.I only load the card up when I
need it, rest of time use paypal.

DG,

I assure you pool will solve the issue. They may be slow over the weekends though.

If it's a pay as you go CC (quite common in the UK) then it's unfortunate and inconvenient for you; however the lock of the funds is removed in 3-5 days.

I would disagree with this statement, Pool is 3rd class backordering service. Snapnames beeing #1 and Lamejet #2
