namejet bid bug

Anyone noticed this bug?
You are in an auction with a few others.
You were the first to order the domain so you are the high bidder with $70.
You enter a proxy bid of let's say $100 and boom!
Bid increases to $80! WTF?

Namejet support is saying some incomprehensible things trying to cover this up.

what reaaaaly annoys me is this:
you bid more than 70 on pre-release.
after the auction, you don't get the domain
you are unable to remove the domain from the "My backorders" list
so, after a while, you'll have dozens of domains in that list

Why bid more than $70 on a pre-release?

to my understanding, there is no "proxy" bid at namejet

the bid you enter is what you pay if you win.

Not exactly. I bid $70, then once other bids came in after the name dropped, I increased my bid to $200. Then I placed in a safety bid of $250. The auction ended at $200.

That is before the auction starts.

After the auction starts what you enter is a proxy bid.

Can someone explain to me why people bid more than $70 on a pre-release?
I can understand it for pending delete...

I think they might have gotten the bug fixed. The price changed back on a refresh or change to new page. I forgot.

I think namejet could use some or more end user testing. They need domainers in there to search, bid, pay and acquire domains and ask for a detailed report on the experience.

This bug is fixed now although I haven't heard from their support officially. I had to send them step by step screenshots so that could understand.

The whole system just doesn't make sense with the layout and bidding, not to mention the obvious bugs.

Yes, I have raised the bid on myself before in this same manner. It's only $10 but still should be fixed by NameJet

It was fixed.

I also found another bug relating to the order the domains are charged.
They said they will fix it.

I just had a nightmare with the proxybidding at NameJet as well.
http://www.dnforum.com/f204/shameful...ad-278012.html

If you post a proxy bid you cannot manage it later. Even if you are the current high bidder you cannot reduce the amount of your proxy bid once placed.

For example say I bid $70 for a domain name it goes to auction with you as the high bidder among say 15 bidders. If you put in a proxy bid of $10000 vice $1000. Even if your $70 bid is still the high bid when you make the proxy bid your stuck. You cannot reduce the bid back to $1000 even before any bidding starts. If you try to contact management they will not return calls or emails. You have to sit and watch a bad proxy bid be executed up to three days later. You spot a problem before it happens and they don't care - They need to get their act together are they are doomed.

I know what you mean.

I was bidding in an auction. I lost but then it went to public auction.
I asked support to remove my proxy bid and instead they removed me from the
auction completely and then I couldn't bid at all!!!
I asked Bridgett to put me back in but she ignored me.
