    Reversed auction...

Namejet just stole one of my domains. I won the domain in an auction 2 weeks ago.

They claimed the the owner of the pre-release name reclaimed the domain.

The domain expired on the 26th of January. That is 52 days after expiration.
    Has anybody else seen this?

    Did they refund your payment?

I've seen *many* domains getting returned to their last owner while the domain is in auction. By the way, there seems to be no restriction pulling out the domains to another registrar (no 40 or 60 day rule).

So I have to win and transfer out? This is ridiculous.

Yes they refunded the payment but that is not the point. I don't care about the money.

Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to transfer out for 60 days anyways. I think its a pretty crappy practice. I never heard of a registrar giving back a domain after 45 days or so.

Not for pre-release domains. They transfer out just fine.

    Was this an Enom domain?

Enom places Pre-release domains in 42 day Auction lock so you cannot transfer out.

the name could have been in "redemption period"

i had a couple of names that expired, and are listed in namejets "pre-release"....and they got bids on them too.

even though they are taking bids, the domains have not went into redemption, though they have expired.

    Namejet doesn't look professional outfit
This happen to one of my friend few days ago at work. Won a pre-release name high $XXXX and after 20 days winning the auction namejet open a support ticket and says they are reversing the name and refunding the money. He launched the website by spending $400-$500 in logo script design etc and was going to spend advertising money this week. what a waste of money poor dude is very sad. In short if you win a name at namejet don't launch website or spend money or if possible transfer out asap as other poster mention about. Snapnames was a better service.
