Auction extension ?

I know eNom and Pool extends the auctions a few minutes when someone bids, say, in the last 5 minutes, they keep increasing the ending time by 5 minutes, and in the case of Pool, lowering it to 2 minutes after three 5-minutes increase.
What about SnapNames ? I can't find any information about this in Snapnames.

Re: Auction extension ?

it gets extended as well.. for something like 5-8 minutes... can go on forever, as long as somebody is getting outbid within that time frame.

BUt TDNAM is funny - no time extension, I missed a lot of domains with those bids in last 10 seconds...

Re: Auction extension ?

What's exact the first time-frame at snapnames for extending auctions? 5 min before the end (like pool)?

Regards
roberto

no, even if you bid 1 second before the auction closes it will get extended

Re: Auction extension ?

It is 5 minutes... just got into a knock-down-drag-out with ben franklin that extended the auction 5 minutes every time a bid was place under 10 minutes.

Grr....

Anyway, got the domain I wanted... paid $xxxx for it though.

Thanks ben :(

Re: Auction extension ?

Confirming what others have said: Five minute extensions at Snap.
What just drives me batty is bidding beyond what I should be ... looking at <1 minute and counting down .... and then BAM, it's five more minutes at a higher price. egads. (yeah vaxis, bonkers, benfranklin, saggydimes et al, I'm talking to you )

Re: Auction extension ?

Do you really think they are sitting there banging on the keys everytime you
bid higher?

They are looking at a list of many domains.

Plus, most of them are using a script.

And, they keep adjusting the max. price when you get close to it.

Also remember. They are comfortable dealing with telephone numbers.

Whereas, most of us, would have a racing heart when we type in $ 50,000,
$ 75,000 or $ 125,000 for one domain.
