fleming.com auction ended at $44,261.00

Isn't that a little too high?

It depends who the buyer was. Flemings is an awesome (uber expensive) steak house in the heart of Boston and I believe have several chains in the US. If it was them, them it would be worth the price. Also keep in mind that JP Morgan owns the plural.

I was surprised it went that high, but you never know who was bidding on it. A google search reveals a ton of end users.

"blogger" won it and already paid.
It's interesting that there was also a bidder "jacobfleming" who fought for it till the end
