The only reason I am thinking of is unclear legal situation in U.S after the updated law (2257) was introduced. I am aware that some adult businesses even migrated to Canada 'to be on safe side'. Each content producer should now expect a goverment inspection to their office, sooner or later. However, all this hardly applies to domainers as there no _images_ or _videos_ at parked pages and so there can be no content/documents/IDs issues!
And there are still a lot of adult businesses in the U.S. who are operating in full compliance with all laws. The main source of ads - GOOGLE - is still serving adult ads... And, according to xbiz news -

"Google Says Maybe to Porn".
So what are the reasons for portfolio owners to delete their adult domains - is still not clear. If it is all U.S. legal issues - non-U.S. domainers should be safe though...
