Snapnames Changes the Rules ( for some )

Snpanmes is changing the rule for "available soon" aucitons. They still charge more but now it doesn't do you any good to bid because anyone can join the acution ** AFTER ** the drop.

Thank you for contacting us.

We have recently made some changes to some of our auctions for domains released to us by Register.com and Moniker. The names that have expired and gone through the Grace Period without being renewed at either of these two registrars will be released to us regardless of the number of backorders that we have for them. They will be placed in three-day public auctions, so any one of our customers can bid on the names.

Unfortunately, we have not yet had a chance to update the website to reflect this new auction type. Please accept our apologies for the confusion and the frustration this must have caused.

Thank you,
Dorothy Placencio

I've received a similar response on July 28th.

Hi James,

After further research, I find that the domain name XXXXXX.com have been
in redemption status at the registry since August 31, 2009.

So if you want to redeem and renew this domain name there will be a
redemption fee of $125.00 and $8.02 for the renewal.

You can prefund your account the total amount by clicking on Fund account
link or you can add credit card to your account and provide me the security
code so that I can manually redeem and renew the name for you.

Let me know how you wish to proceed.

Thank you,
Carla Clarke
So I backordered at snap figuring I'd get it at opening bid..turns out pool.com got the domain ( I got it for $60 )

I had this backordered at snapnames..it was registered at moniker..and it was caught by pool ??

and this was only a few days ago Registration date 2009-10-07 19:09:25
