Imo it is about the 20 cent icann fee , while it was free they were a chicken in a corn warehouse and did not care much but now is the the last time to eat the corns free before getting out of th warehouse.
If you bought domains on 3th of july their graceperiod ends on 8th of july.
Just a guess

I think they are having much larger issues then this. I do agree they were deep into tasting domains (running them in auction) and if not sold, they simply dropped them.

Currenlty with them being down, they are also not catching any domains on the drop! Heck, even a Godaddy backorder yesterday grabbed a nice VCVC .com (UWIP.com) from the pending delete drop.

By the message currently on the site, it appears they will be down until the 8th.

"Auctions that were scheduled to end on July 4th and July 5th Pacific will now end on July 8th."

HI

So they are down because Icann is raising domain prices by 0.20 cent ....?

So let me get this straight, you guys think because Icann approved a .20c tasting fee it somehow made Snapnames decide to shutdown their website

It appears that this is a much broader issue. All the Snapnames cached pages in Google (newsroom, press releases etc..) lead back to the main page. It appears that their entire website is down, hard!

I have called their Support number and got their voicemail, so I left a message. Hopefully someone will return my call.

Unlimited bulk submissions (7/7)

Trying to add a few more domains for the upcoming Internext and Affiliate Summit auctions through moniker and same Snapname "Unavailable" page though moniker has posted for Internext:
Quote:
Submission deadline now extended to Wednesday, 7/9!
I imagine they'll extend the Affiliate Summit submissions soon

Limited submissions (max of 10 per person)* (7/8)

Oversee has much higher priorities than to be worrying about Snapnames and your backorders, It's the 4th of July weekend!, they have a Barb-Q to attend with investors, discussing what company to take over next, How to increase prices and cut services, Power and profits are what's important, NOT the customer, so please stop your complaining.

How many drops are there in a day? They seem to have locked up one or two days of drop past the refund period.

I'm a big fan of snapnames but this downtime is unacceptable.

At least put up a different error page.

Sure they obviously have bigger problems but talk about bad PR!

How about getting on the forums and telling us about the problem?

Hi guys-

As you are aware the SnapNames service was unavailable between last Thursday evening U.S. Pacific time and today. Functionality has now been restored and important data, including transaction history, has been fully retained.

Note that auctions scheduled to close between July 4-7 will now close on Tuesday, July 8or later. Please monitor any auctions accordingly.

I'm sorry about this -- it took a lot of effort by a lot of people over the holiday weekend to get everything 100% restored on the site. If you have further questions please email our customer service group at support@snapnames or email me direct at kjelh@snapnames.

Best,

Kjel Holmberg
