Is this a newly-registered (dropped) domain ?
What does the whois say ?
If you are new to domains and looking to buy, sell and learn about domains then you have come to the right place. DNForum is the largest domain name community on the internet and continues to grow every day. There are over 105,000 domainers on DNForum doing everything from buying domains, selling domains, learning about domains and discussing domains. Take a minute and Register.
Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!Tucows was always reputable in my book. Never had a problem with transfering-away from them for domains acquired through snapnames.
But, after initiating a routine transfer-away on Feb 20th, received the following email:
"The current registrar, TUCOWS INC., for the domain <>.com rejected the transfer request you submitted because of Initial 60 Days after registration or transfer.
Pursuant to established registry procedures the transfer is declined."
What a lie... It is obvious that expired domains auctioned though snapnames are all regged during at least 1 year with tucows!
And, they did not bother to reply to email sent to their compliance department...
Anybody had the same experience?
Is this a newly-registered (dropped) domain ?

The domain in question is not recently registered, as it was auctioned by tucows on snapnames platform as an expired domain. Tucows happens to be snapnames preferred partner. Therefore, ALL tucows-regged domains acquired through snapnames are old, regged at least during 1 year with the current registrar!
Interesting. Another anomoly within the system. Will keep watch.
Hi Tony,
I manage the Tucows-Snapnames auction partnership and I can assure you there is nothing shady going on. I am sure there is a logical explanation for what happened.
Please email me with the specifics of your problem (and make sure to include the domain name in question) and I will investigate and get back to you via private email.
You can reach me at bsweetman(at)tucows.com
Thanks, and I look forward to sorting this out with you.
Thank you so much for your help Bill. Transfer-approval e-mail is received. The case is closed.
According to another e-mail from Tucows, "lock has been removed". Not sure who locked the domain name sold through Snapnames from transfer-away and for what purpose. Hope it is one-time case which would not happen again!
