Getting a better price with register.com

Hi. I have a few domains at register.com that I can't simply transfer as I accidentily let them lapse. I was just wondering how someone should go about trying to get a better price from them? I've heard of people doing it. Just was wondering if anyone here had done it and what they said to make it happen.

Call them for your Auth. code for a different domain you have registered there .
They will offer to set your account up with the pricing of where you are transferring to..
Then renew the domains lapsed...worth a try

Does anyone have any new coupon codes like renew77? That one doesn't seem to work anymore.
