My guess, if you complained directly to them, closing the connection is only the beginning of their revenge! I would not be surprised if they shut down your account and remove domains from your account (FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE).

This must have happend a long time ago. When I tried to contact them via life chat I've got an error message from the provider ( I think it was lifeperson.com or something like that, I deleted the mail) that an account for Registerfly did not even exist in their system. So it's not really a surprise that nobody answers to support requests. There is probably no support!

Re: Registerfly locks account when using "special offers"

there are countless threads about regfly on DNF.
just do a search and you'll notice lots of complaints about them.
a while ago they locked my account, and when I asked the live support he told me it was my fault, because I used un-allowed characters in the password.
sure, don't blame/fix the system , that allowed me to enter that characters in the first place, blame the customer, that's a good policy.
My advice - stick with another "player" - enom, moniker, GD

Please be advised that phone support and live chat will be closed today in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Please use the support system for any support inquiries.
Of course never mind that this is November 27th and I have domains that I have been attempting to renew since the 22nd with NO replies to my support tickets. The worse part is RF makes it virutally impossible to transfer names away from them...I can't find the EPP codes anywhere!

Re: Registerfly locks account when using "special offers"

I know many of you have been having problems with Registerfly. I'll try to give
a detailed explanation of what's going on. (or at least what I think is going on
based on what I've been able to gather so far...)

Remember that Registerfly was once an Enom reseller, registering domains of
their customers through their reseller account. Registerfly eventually got their
    ICANN registrar accreditation last year.

They definitely want to have their clients' domain names managed thru their
own systems instead. Somewhere along the way, both Registerfly and Enom
had a "falling out" of sorts, or whatever you want to call it.

Eventually they worked out some kind of agreement wherein if you renew your
domain names through Registerfly's interface, and they happen to be in their
Enom reseller account, Enom will "release" the names to Registerfly. In effect,
you're really doing a registrar transfer instead of a seemingly plain renewal.

I found another thread in another forum that Registerfly recently input some
new software. Part of their "desire" to make things in-house, of course.

In so doing, it seems this has caused their original systems designed for their
Enom-reseller domain names to go haywire. Renewals are failing, bulk changes
    aren't completely going through, etc.

I've yet to encounter any technical or billing problems with Registerfly. But it's
because my domain name/s are in their own systems instead of that of their
    Enom reseller account, I guess.

If anything, Registerfly can be faulted for not proactively telling customers of
their impending changes ahead of time. But I wouldn't know if they didn't send
out any note of such whatsoever since I only started using them middle this
    year (I think).

They did email back in February they're using a new "renewal" system. Some
got it and others didn't, but then email isn't as reliable as it once was.

In essence, most likely why many of the things you're trying to accomplish in
Registerfly aren't working is because those domain names are still within their
reseller account with Enom. With the recent software change, this has made
    it even worse.

I guess the software change also initially caused some new registration tries
to fail, not sure. But then I haven't seen any such reports the past 2 months,
    unless I missed it somewhere.

On the other hand, Registerfly recently hired a new guy to "improve" their own
customer support. He expects things to change in the next few months, we'll
    see.

Meanwhile, for those seeking to move their names out of Registerfly but can't
find the auth codes, here's what you do: do a WHOIS on your domain name/s
and note the line "registrar". If it says Registerfly, you'll find the auth code at
the bottom of the modify contact section.

If the registrar line says "Enom", you either send a ticket for Registerfly to get
the EPP or auth code or contact Enom themselves. Doing the latter might be
quicker since Registerfly might queue their auth code retrieval and bulk send
them to Enom for "easier management".

I'll see if I can get him to join here as well, though I don't blame him if he does
not sign up here. If he does, then you can start bashing him.

Good luck with your Registerfly issues. I hope this helps in some way.

Re: Registerfly locks account when using "special offers"

    Dave,

Thanks for trying to explain. This may partly be an issue for existing registrations. However not for any new registration/transfer attempts. Registerfly is not only technically incapable to manage the subscriber numbers they are now so proud of. They are also unwilling to solve any problems and behave fraudulent continuing to steal domains and money.

After getting access back to my account I tried to figure out where the money for the failed transfers is gone. To my surprise it's listed nowhere, only on my credit card statement! Nothing under accounting. No trace of the double charge without providing anything else than locking my account! However under reports the transfers are listed as "canceled or deleted tarnsfer request"...not by me! I'm puzzled.

Support tickets are not answered as usual since 3 days. I'm now creating a new one every day and probably have to move to the 5 mins rhythm another poster mentioned.

For me this is stealing und trying to cover up. If this is not criminal, what is it then?

Re: Registerfly locks account when using "special offers"

Sent a mail again to Mark after 4 support tickets regarding the "canceled transfers" and disappeared (or better stolen) money remain unanswered.

    +++

It's now as good as confirmed that this is the only way to get a response from Registerfly:

Open 3...4...up to you numbers of equal support tickets or alternatively the same amount of emails to whatever regfly address you like. It doesn't matter as they will simply ignore you and not react at all. This should take you less than a week. Don't get upset, this is how they work.

Now you write a neutral worded email to Mark, explain the situation and ask for support. Don't blame him, I have the impression he is a helpful guy and tries to fix issues whereever possible. After a short while I'm sure someone from "Level 2 support" (whatever this means, they have no names ) will contact you and you have a chance to get your problems resolved.

Hopefully Mark is able to move from the current reactive to a more proactive way of doing things and get Registerfly back on track. Chances are there.

    And now...something unbelievable:

    Response:
All over charges have been refunded to your credit card. Please allow 5-7 business days for the refund to show on your next
statement. Please do not update to this ticket. Your ticket will close automatically.

Talking Re: Registerfly locks account when using "special offers"

Some final comments on that thread...

After disputing the charges to my bank and refunding, necessary changing of my credit card and moving all my domains away from the regfly gangsters, I got today a mail from them, that my last 2 moved out domains were "transfered" to an internal account "fraud". Don't know what exactly they transfered hahaha....

So I logged in again just for fun after a long time to regfly and of course my account is suspended again. But now it also tells me what money these criminals like to get to re-open it:

Not exactly sure what it means but it looks like "charge back" or something like that for their illegal double charging and my dispute in the first place . So they want around 500 bucks for their own illegal activities .

Does anybody know how to move the account from status "suspended" to "closed and never to be opened again"?

    Case closed.

Exclamation ICANN revokes accreditation of Registerfly

Finally it's over, ICANN terminates Regfly's accreditation with effect of 31st March incl. 15 days notice time.

Until then Regfly has to provide all details / unlock domains and allow transfer of all domain names. Everybody who still has names registered with them should react now!

If you need help transferring away from registerfly, check out this step by step guide. Works for names registered with regfly ICANN credentials, not sure about names with enom ICANN credentials.

Looks like Regfly changed their portal and the ICANN accreditation is gone. However they still try to entice people to get ripped off there....sucks.
