Are they just stupid, or am I missing something - email posted

I X'd private information. I've been trying for a few months to get this domain to north america at my registrar of choice. I've gone through enough aggravation at this point. I'm trying my dambdest to get my epp code to submit a transfer. They run me around and never give it to me. I've re-read this email and cant find the logic. I've explained I need the epp code before i can even submit a transfer with the winning registrar. Just a few lines into this email they tell me the epp code will be sent to me when i move the domain away.

    What am I missing here.

After this email, I will have submitted several tickets, phone calls, faxes with my personal info attached., I've proven without a doubt I am ME.

    > Hi Kevin,
    >
    > Thanks for the fax. The password is (xxxxx) for the domain (xxxxx.com).
    >
    > An EPP code will be sent to you once you move this domain away from UK2. The process is below:
    >
    > Please update your Whois details before transfering the domain away. To update these details, please log into http://www.uk2.net/domains.shtml with the Domain name and password you wish to move away. Inside your Domain Control Panel, click "Owner Details" and in here are two links or more along the top. Each link edits different information about your domain. Please ensure that all information is up to date.
    >
    > Then in order to transfer your domain to another host please go to http://amail.co.uk/moveaway.htm
    > Please fill out the online form; once this form has been fully completed the admin contact will be changed to the owners details so that when your new host submits the transfer request it will go to the domain owner for authorisation.
    >
    > The Summary page of the above Transfer process should be faxed to 020 7788 9697 and is purely for our records only. The fax is independant of the above transfer process. If you do not have access to a fax machine, please take a screen shot of the Transfer Away Summary page and include that as an attachment in a reply to this email.

The way I read their mail is:

Follow the link to an online form which ask for your info. They in turn will update Admin record to the info you provide on the form. Email implies records are updated real time since they ask that you email a screen cap of the summary page.

I saw no mention of EPP code, perhaps you get access to it once admin info is updated.

All you can do is go through the motions and hope things work out.

Re: Are they just stupid, or am I missing something - email posted

I've followed those instructions on more than one occasion.. im challenging the support in chat with me now to do it for me.. gave him my pw and login to try

He couldnt change the information to mine.

Anyone else have domains with UK2.net here and if so, can you change your admin and tech information, and as well can you get your epp codes ?

    Todays returned ticket.

    Hi Jack,

Our system is automated and that process will release the domain fully back to yourself, unlock it and email you the auth code (from the registrar) to your updated WHOIS details. The domain is indeed a Tucows domain and we are it's reseller.

I'm sorry that you think we have 'hijacked' your admin and technical contact details - but as we host your domain we are officially the administrators for your domain and also the technical contact also. The Registrant details still remain yours - as I have mentioned above, these will be reverted back to you on transferring out as the auth code will be sent to the domain's admin contact email address.

Please make sure that you update your details for the Registrar's WHOIS file by following the process below:

Please update your Whois details before transferring the domain away. To update these details, please log into http://www.uk2.net/domains.shtml with the Domain name and password you wish to move away. Inside your Domain Control Panel, click "Owner Details" and in here are two links or more along the top. One for UK2's Billing contact details and another for the Registrar's WHOIS file details - these BOTH must be fully updated for a smooth transfer.

The fax is independent of the above transfer process. If you do not have access to a fax machine, please take a screen shot of the Transfer Away Summary page and include that as an attachment in a reply to this email.

I invite anyone here to login to my account there and try to get it out. I'll give my pw to anyone with exclusive membership here. I'm so sure this is an imposible task posting my pw is of no risk to me considering there is no domain control. The whois shows my name, and address only. No email, no phone. The tech and admin they claim they have right to as you can read in the second paragraph of the email above. And yes, I've followed the instructions in the email above to the letter on more than one occasion.

If anyone is curious, pm me for user/pw, I invite an exclusive member to try.

Tucows is the registrar through opensrs, im trying to go to the top with this issue but tucows is just as difficult to deal with. Thankfully there head office is close by and might pass by in 7 or 14 days to try and rectify this face to face. Their email support is a joke.

I would like to add that I transfer alot of domains on a regular basis. I'm not out of touch with how things work. Since about june 2006 I've transferred no less than 500 .com, net, org, info and perhaps 100 or so .ca giving me an average daily domain transfer of approximately 3-4.

Re: Are they just stupid, or am I missing something - email posted

Tucows called me an hour ago. I forwarded them one of the resent support ticket replies and they are looking at it. I've simply asked for my information to reflect my whois, to have the domain unlocked, and to have my epp code.
The person I spoke to from tucows seemed authentic in trying to help me. I'll post further on this when I see a result.

Also I've contacted my registrar of choice and they are looking into this too.

Jack Splat/ Kevin Farrell from Ottawa, now Calgary SW sold the domain out from under us. No warning, nada. 3 years of building our business, using the domain (which he promised us would always be ours), branding our company around it and on Friday our website goes down and is replaced by Google ads for rhubarb whatever! Now I have no website, emails AND the $2600 of which he promised to pay us by trading www.rhubarb.ca is now still owed. He sold it Jan 29, 2009 - pretty close to the date I started poking around this forum...

Lots - a string of email conversations (blatant promises that domain was ours and that it wll always be ours) The actual work we did is live at www6.ca (A site of his ) not to mention many witnesses who can testify to the deal

A contract that was sent (never signed) but non the less we have proof.

It seems like he's been on-line, so I think the mods should ask him to respond.
