Enom flagrantly rejecting transfers (and admitting it)

So, I sold a few .US domain names the other day. The buyer wanted to transfer them out - which is not an unreasonable request. The first two transfers were rejected. The names were UNLOCKED and not near their expiration date. I emailed Support. Here is a copy/paste of the ticket:

    Support,

I just sold three names to another party. They want to transfer them over to GoDaddy. I unlocked the names requested the EPP key. The new owner then initiated a transfer at Godaddy, but the transfers are immediately rejected.

    1) The three domain names are NOT locked
    2) The EPP code is correct
    3) The domain names are NOT expired

Can you please investigate this problem?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting customer support regarding this issue. .USs can not be transferred outside of Enom.

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can do for you. We thank you for your business.

    Regards,

Excuse me? What is the rationale for that? You ALLOW .us to be tranferred in. Why can't they be transferred out?

It's a current regulation that we have.

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can do for you. We thank you for your business.

    Regards,

When did this become "regulation"? How can you legally prohibit domains from being transferred? I have been able to perform outbound transfers before.

    Response (Kevin) 05/01/2008 10:58 AM
I am going to see if there is anything I can do to get these out for you. Give me a few and I will be back with you.

    Regards,

"Its a current regulation we have"?!?!

WTF kind of response is that?

We are now 9 days into this ticket, and no .US names have been able to be transferred.

I am transferring all my names out. THis is ridiculous.

Wow sorry to hear that. I would keep replying to the ticket seeing it has been 8 days since the last update.
