    .info at Enom

Does enom register the .info for each domain you own? All my domains have a corresponding .info registered. The whois information shows my information and the domain redirects to my site. Has anyone else noticed this?

    Re: .info at Enom

Thanks for your help. I thought it was wierd too that someone would register the .infos for my names.

The thing that made me a little worried was that one of the domains showed up as blacklisted for spam on whois.sc:
    http://www.whois.sc/aimdolls.info

I never sent any spam, i dont even have access to the .infos. I thought someone was acting like me to exploit my visitors.

    Re: .info at Enom

Yeah they did it without anyones knowledge or consent back when the free .info domain thing was going on, they were trying to be the #1 domain registrar and catch up to GoDaddy...I noticed this too and they registered like 100 of my .coms from that period without me knowing..I only found out when I tried to register one and it showed already taken by me! lol, I was like WTF? If you contact them they will put them in your account, but only if you ask...I am suprised we all didnt sue their ass for that stunt...
I'm buying credit, banking, loan, insurance related generics in .com, .net, .org with high search volumes/traffic. Will consider typos too! - PLEASE PM with name, info, & asking price!

I am very surpised that you would be so upset for eNom giving people free .INFO names. Did you know that they had to pay for them (on your behalf eNom payed the ICANN 'tax')?

You don't have to contact eNom to have gotten the names added to your main 'registered' domain list, since there is a special catagory added to the domain manager on enom's website that listed the .INFO names and allowed you to either accept them as 'free' registered names or to have them deleted.

You can find it by logging into your account on enom.com then going to:
    http://www.enom.com/domains/DomainMa...?tab=promotion

    Which says:

These domain names are free promotional .info domain names. If you are the registrant, or have the apparent authority of the registrant, you may either 1) "activate" the name or, 2) delete the name or, 3) do nothing. The names are not resolving, which means they are not pointing to any IP address in the DNS.

    All the options are free:

    Activate
If you choose this option you will proceed through the normal shopping cart and checkout process but you will not be charged for the name. You will confirm that you agree to the registration agreement and then the name will move to the normal paid status listing in your account. After you activate the name, you can push it to any other eNom account, change the whois information set the name server (DNS) information and otherwise use the name like any other .info name. You can even transfer the name to another registrar if you wish.
    Delete
If you choose this option the name will be deleted at the registry. After proceeding through the normal ICANN "redemption grace" and "pending delete" periods, the name will go back into the registry's pool of names which are available for registration. If after you delete the name, you change your mind and wish to bring the name back from the redemption grace period (RGP), in effect "un-deleting" the name, you will have to pay the standard RGP fee. If you wish to delete all of the .info promotional names in this account, please contact eNom customer service.
    Do Nothing
If you choose this option the name will either be automatically deleted during the 45-day auto-renew grace period after the name expires, or before.

    Re: .info at Enom

Ok, that sounds great, however when they did it they didnt tell anyone about it until we all figured it out ourselves 3 months later and my domains are at tosdomains.com an enom reseller, and in order to get "my .info" domains there it's a pain in the butt, what maybe you don't understand is that my privacy, and information was violated and used without my consent in a deceptive marketing ploy to get me to re-register them before they expire when i didnt want the damn .info's in my name anyways! And some people have complained they have been used for spam and still had their personal information attached to the registered domains! Everything that is "FREE" has a cost, trust me. If you don't see a problem with this I feel bad for you. Hope this opens everyones eyes about enom, thats why I only use GoDaddy now, they have some respect for my privacy and theyre cheaper too and have more features!
