You will have to contact GoDaddy personally.
You are correct.
Unless you ask for a refund they will not refund the transfer fees.

Beware of this and be carefull when you try to transfer domains to GoDaddy
When I buy domains with other registars I used try to move them to my goDaddy account.
If they are new or when I change my info (from the sellers info etc)
domains fail to transfer - And I found out GoDaddy keeps that money.
I was under the impression they refund or credit your account.
Now they have a lot of my money with them.
Beware of this and be carefull when you try to transfer domains to goDaddy

I wish they respond sooner.
And not keep all the money from un-suspecting people.
Not sure what account they show all the money - they get for nothing.

Thanks for reminding.
Just requested refund for a couple of names.![]()
I find this amazing... and totally wrong. Should be an automatic refund on a failed transfer ....
very unprofessional... IMO

It is very unprofessional indeed, and it is bloody annoying to request a refund each and every time there are failed transfers.
Sababa my friend
GoDaddy has a very aggressive business model to keep the cash churning. Even when you register a name, if you're a noob, your gonna buy a bunch of crap you don't need.
I have escalated this issue to get it resolved.
-=DCG=-
I had a failed transfer back on or around 2/4
Receipt#: XXXXXX599 the domain was sitting in "Pending Transfer"
After reading this I checked and it gone..
I don't recall ever getting credit for this as I "was" going to get around to calling but I get tired of the sale pitches..kinda like getting a auth code from Register.com (those that tried knows what I mean)
I don't see a credit anywhere in my transactions so I assume GoDaddy just pocketed the cash ??
Wonder how many other "failed " transfers "disappeared..
Glad your looking into this Adam
jim
Edit..on a side note the domain dropped and was registered at godaddy.com so maybe thats why it removed from my "pending transfers" ??
Note:My posted Sales Prices are valid for 3 Days only
Most my domains listed for sale are available at sedo.com
Several years ago when had a lot of names at WildWest I had that happen many times with them keeping the money on failed transfers when it should be automatically refunded. From what I recall I let them keep the money because of all the time and hassle in dealing with it so often. It happened a lot at the time with dozens of failed transfer-ins for various reasons.
Even amongst registrars (a generally sorry lot at best) GoDaddy is truly a leader in marketing scams.
You might want to see my new post here about them seemingly bidding against your MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE domain back orders. They have several times doubled the price of .BIZ and .US (and possibly other domains too) for no reason at all and without notice. Bob Parsons is 'attempting to make his company better everyday', a paraphrase of a 'Great Domainer Quotations' here at DNF. And, yes he does, for him and himself only. I do use them and hate myself a little bit every day for it.
