That right, it's not, even on the very day a domain expires w/Go Daddy they don't let you push it to anybody's account even within GD, you have to renew it first even if it's in the initial grace period (where you still don't have to pay the $80 to save a name, ie redemption)
Funny, they will let you transfer it out, though (to another registrar) during the initial grace period, not sure if you can after that. But this is as long as you have UNLOCKED the domain BEFORE it expired, and obtained the auth code by email as well, they won't let you do either once the name expires
