Netsol transfer nightmare - can't change ownership of many ccTLDs

After weeks of trying to get an intelligible response out of Network Solution's "Technical Support Specialists" (LOL), it turns out that NetSol doesn't allow a transfer or ownership change of .co.uk, .org.uk., .me.uk., .de, .be, .at, .co.nz, .net.nz, .org.nz, .mx, .am and .fm domains.

I was trying to change the ownership of a .fm domain and after a few nonsense responses they claimed that the registry doesn't allow any changes to be made, a false claim which the dot fm registry promptly denied.

Then they pointed to their service agreement, which actually does prohibit the transfer or ownership change of a wide variety of ccTLDs:

    http://www.networksolutions.com/lega...-agreement.jsp

    4. No transfers or legal name changes are allowed for .co.uk, .org.uk., .me.uk., .de, .be, .at, .co.nz, .net.nz, .org.nz, .mx, .am or .fm country-specific domain name registrations, which includes, but is not limited to, CRA, RNCA, channel transfers, account consolidation by 2 or more users.

Does anyone know why they would implement such a ridiculous policy even though (at least in the case of .FM) there are no such restrictions on part of the registry? Is there a workaround of any kind?

Well it's not a problem with the registrar since most ccTLDs (.us being an exception) cannot be pushed. You need to follow the registry procedure.
Usually the transfer is initiated by the gaining party.
Some procedures are easy and even fully automated. I believe .fm is a real pain though. Check the respective registries to get acquainted with the rules. Good luck.

In the case of .FM, while the registry doesn't allow transfers from one registrar to another, they don't impose any restrictions on any registrar as far as changing ownership is concerned:

"There are no restrictions on contact changes under .FM domain and the registry policy is no different than any ICANN TLD." -- Dot FM Reseller Department

So it seems this is something that NetSol made up and there appears to be no way out.

With the .UK ones you need to do it direct with Nominet anyway, pushing a name between accounts won't change the registrant as it does with .com.

NetSol can say whatever they like, you don't need them.

    Thanks,
