Opening new company. Can it survive?

    Hello,

I finally found a good domain parking script that I know is good as I know the programmer and he has made reliable scripts for years now. So I have thought of opening a domain parking program. However, being knew we all know that cannot get good feeds ast first. So my question was, could a parking program that had 5-8c bids(given to the members) survive? Anyone have thoughts? Thanks

And yet SO MANY parking sites routinely pay .03 - .05 cents. They ALL are guility of this.

So don't fret it... Start your business, market the living snot out of it and use your traffic and sales/ppc revs to market to businesses and get their ad bids.

Take a "stand-up" approach and do TWO things and you will be successful..

1 - Build strategic partnerships. Find domain listers, parkers, small businesses and other folks that will work with you on a FREE or limited cost basis to build your inventory and garner traffic. These stats are the foundation of your sales pitch. Similarly, build a good relationship with the people you have parked with you... give them LARGER revenue shares and make it more attractive. Later, when you are getting the $1+ bids, you can (for your newer customers) adjust your take but ALWAYS give the customer the better end of the deal and you will grow.

2 - PLAN and BUDGET for net LOSS for some period of time. Do not expect it to be profitable in the short term. You WILL loose money hand over fist up front as you build your base. PLAN FOR IT. Build your plan, set up your budget and DON'T give up on it... If you do, that money just got wasted. This also leads to the value of point #1... your strategic parnerships will allow you to save as much money as you can while you are in start-up mode.

I would be interested in representing your parking services to my customers at TopDollarNames.com... I had hoped to offer a Parking Service soon for people that have sites listed there and just haven't got that far yet. Perhaps we can work something out?

Either way, if it's what you want to do.. then DO IT. Just have a plan and the guts to stick it out. It WILL be hard but I think worth it.

Think about it.. Moniker, sedo, Adsense... these multi-million dollar parkers had to start SOMEWHERE...

    Best of luck man!

To be honest, your service would most likely not survive. It is not just that the cpc would be low, it is also that your script and backend would not have as many features as the software of parking companies which are already established in the market. In addition, you would have nothing but a script while they have tech admins, customer support, finances, individual contracts with domain portfolio owners and, maybe most importantly, experience. Maybe a small new parking company would have had chances to succeed two years ago, but not today.

New parking companies really need great innovative features, good RPMs for their customers, a reliable backend and a good customer support if they want to get into the market successfully.

Well, at least sedo was acquired by United Internet AG and Google has had some investors, so these companies were financially backed up when they started their parking / PPC programs.
