    Thumbs up Feds Demand Firefox Remove Add-On That Redirects Seized Domains

    The Department of Homeland Security has requested that Mozilla, the maker of the Firefox browser, remove an add-on that allows web surfers to access websites whose domain names were seized by the government for copyright infringement, Mozilla's lawyer said Thursday. Mozilla is refusing.

    Never heard of this add-on. Thanks for the heads up. The US government has gotten incredibly repressive, and the seizing of private property is becoming one of their favorite tools. While it's portrayed as simply seizing illegally-gained assets, the seizures require no conviction or even proof of illegal activity. The suspicion alone is enough for the government to take everything one owns. I'm glad Mozilla is standing up to them (for now). And it's one more reason to think twice about going Chrome.
