DNF$: 0 Location: Michigan | The 4th Of July :( I dont think Ill be happy in celebration this year or any year that Obama and the socialites keep taking over businesses. Obama lets a Dictator kill hundreds of kids that wanted freedom from a dictator / war monger, in Iran. Obama supports a dictator in south America. Obama keeps buying oil at record prices. Does not drill baby drill in America Obama keeps spending, raising the national debt. Obama just makes me depressed.

Country: | SAY IT AIN'T SO! Obama and Paris got a thing going? Already? Wow, talk about not wanting to be upstaged by a South Carolina governor. Of course, you being from Michigan you know first hand that the auto industry just did a big fat belly flop only after Obama became president. And indeed ALL the banks were solvent. What pains me is watching you whither in sorrow and misery. There are options, such as renouncing your citizenship. You know, Whoopi Goldberg said she was going to do this (and Rosie O'Donnell as well) if Bush won the presidency in 2000. *****es - they didn't do it. Answer me this? You whine, complain, cry about Iran like it was suddenly the focus of this nation. While not one to turn away a blind eye to what is going on, what would you recommend that Obama do? Launch a war on a third front? And while I can not think of the thread or exactly when I wrote it, on this very forum I publicly questioned why, last summer, my nephew and his platoon were being sent to Honduras. Why, of all places, were we sending troops to Honduras? So the South American thing you complain of was already in the makings. And had been for many years. To me, I thought perhaps it was to have a presence somewhere in that region closer to Chavez. Perhaps so. As usual, we (the US) has supported regimes in the past that were not the favorite of the people and the nation. Obviously, this president was also not a favorite. And of all places, I could not understand why, when my nephew told me, the villagers hated the US troops in their towns. Sure, children would run up and greet them in hopes of getting treats - and then throw rocks as the soldiers once their backs were to them. So, suck it up. Yes, suck it up. And pray that if Obama ****s up as much as you think he has and as much as Bush did, the idiots of this country won't want to be as stupid as the bunch of imbeciles that voted Bush into a second term. | Platinum Lifetime Member | The idea that statements like this are made about Obama after the past 8 years baffles me. But then... these are usually the same people who voted for George Bush.... twice...

Man-o-man, really taught them a lesson in democracy, eh? Rather than take a diplomatic approach, the flavor of the day was to display falsified info to convince the world we needed to invade Iraq and try to draw Iran in to the fracas through the back door. Gee, that strategy really worked well. We are still buried in a brutal civil war and that Irani dictactor was smarter than Bush not to be drawn in. All in all, I would say the Iranian regime got exactly what it was after and Buddy Bush handed it to him - a position of strength and might in the Middle East.

"What you're seeing in Iran are hundreds of thousands of people who believe their voices were not heard and who are peacefully protesting and seeking justice. And the world is watching. And we stand behind those who are seeking justice in a peaceful way." Question (by Harry Smith): "People in this country say you haven't said enough, that you haven't been forceful enough in your support for those people on the street -- to which you say?" Obama: "To which I say, the last thing that I want to do is to have the United States be a foil for those forces inside Iran who would love nothing better than to make this an argument about the United States. That's what they do. That's what we're already seeing. We shouldn't be playing into that. There should be no distractions from the fact that the Iranian people are seeking to let their voices be heard." Maybe you want him to be more specific, but short of making threats and/or getting militarily involved, there's not much he can do besides criticize the regime and point out the dangers of greater U.S. involvement there, both of which he did.

Country: | Oh, no - he wanted a speech made for the preemo photo op like Reagan standing before the Berlin Wall to throngs of crowds asking the wall to be torn down. Problem is, there is not really a wall or village or mosque safe enough for Obama in that area called middle east to get a throng of people together without well coordinated suicide bombers killing hundreds. Then again, some feel that would make for an exciting photo op. |

You have to admit, Obama does not speak from the cuff (shoot from the hip). His words have impact and meaning and worth. Sure, sometimes we think he may be sidestepping the issue. But he is well aware that every one pays attention to every word. And isn't it nice (if true) for his second and third in command try to upstage him? Honestly, I have trouble believing this was stated. If there is some shred of truth to it, I am sure Obama, Hilary, and Joe had a nice quiet breakfast one morning in the White House to discuss what is to be said, and who is to say it. Your July 4th is not ruined because of the Democratic party or Obama. Your July 4th is ruined because what has allowed to happen for nearly the past two years has spiraled out of control and, frankly, the greedy got greedier and got caught. I was listening to the news this evening. Talking about how North Carolina now has the biggest budget deficit in history and its unemployment rate is 11.1, more than double where it was this time last year. Am I going to be so short sighted and blame Bev Perdue to driving NC into the ground, even though she has only been in office since January? Last edited by Doc Com; 07-02-2009 at 12:18 AM.. But anyway, to the Honduras thing. We've had troops in Honduras for oh, the last 25 years or more. I spent time down there myself in the early 90's. We help man an air base there. Not saying we should be there, just that it isn't any conspiracy (unless an extremely long and slow one) or related to the current situation. Honduras is almost always on the brink of political crisis. I did really enjoy my time down there and it is beautiful in many areas, but I have a fondness for third world countries where pretty much anything goes and $20 US will buy you out of the back of a police car ![]()

Country: | Don't let our Socialist buffoon get you down Greg, try to look on the bright side; In 18 months Republicans will control both the House and Senate, Once this happens, Obama will be a lame duck for the last 2 years of his Presidency. After that, a Republican President will be elected and reverse most of what this incompetent fool did to this Country. Following that, it will be at least 16 to 20 years before American is stupid enough to vote another Socialist into office. Try to think of Obama as a "Lesson" A lesson America will never forget. Enjoy your 4th of July sweetie, I know I will. ![]() |
