Remember to thank a vet.
I know we have many vets from several nations here. Some have seen combat, others haven't.
Regardless - you've done a great service for your country and country's pride (regardless of political affiliation).
To all US vets and active members of the military: Thank you for your service for this country.

It wasn't just US. It was the Allied forces - it seems like WWII was the last war where we had many nations unified as well as they were then.
No offense to those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan today (and served in Korea and Vietnam and the first Gulf War) the "Allied" nations seem more like a confederacy.
You see the news form them it was all about the "Allies" - an "Allied victory" etc.. today it's more like "American troops" "British Troops" "Spanish troops" etc.

Actually around 2 hours from the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford,VA.
Very historic day and event; Allied soldiers from many nations stormed Normandy, truly was the greatest generation imo...

Well, they didn't call them World Wars for nothing.
Today's wars are mostly a couple countries here and there, in very specific areas of engagement.
