States Consider Selling Off Roads, Parks to Confront Financial Meltdown

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota is deep in the hole financially, but the state still owns a premier golf resort, a sprawling amateur sports complex, a big airport, a major zoo and land holdings the size of the Central American country of Belize.

Valuables like these are in for a closer look as 44 states cope with deficits.

Like families pawning the silver to get through a tight spot, states such as Minnesota, New York, Massachusetts and Illinois are thinking of selling or leasing toll roads, parks, lotteries and other assets to raise desperately needed cash.

Why couldn't the auto companies cut back spending and sell things in order to survive like our states do?

Personally I don't mind the auto companies as much as I do the banks and brokerages. We need jobs and cars not chumps in expensive suits. They are the ones who are just going to come in and by up the infrastructure for pennies on the dollar with the tax money they just got. Then setup toll road on the roads they buy and charge outrageous fees to people who use the airports and parks. They are already setting up the Grand Canyon this way. Most people aren't aware but Clinton signed over most of our national parks to the UN and they are managed by mostly foreign corporations or "organizations." As far as the Grand Canyon they are closing it off to "normal" tourists traffic. The only way you will be able to go in is via buses and you'll have to pay a fee. This is how this "privatization" BS works. Once they take over the roads you might as well forget about having nice roads to drive on because they will be more concerned with profit margins than fixing roads. All the workers will get meager pay and no benefits or any hope for a retirement.

It's not in action yet but that's the plan. All under the guise of preserving it. Our states apparently aren't competent enough to manage them properly themselves. As far as not hearing about it. Well there's a lot they don't talk about until it's already in motion. Kind of like Bush signing the commitment for NAU without telling anyone about it. They still tried to deny it even when they were planning and selling off the management of the NAFTA super highway.

The "World Heritage Site" program does not confer any ownership or authority to the UN in US national parks.

The purpose of the World Heritage Convention of 1972, which was based on a proposal by the Nixon administration btw, is to try to encourage countries to preserve and protect significant natural and cultural landmarks.

Personally I don't consider myself a "tin foil hat wearer" and quite honestly I wouldn't have even thought about any of this shit if it wasn't for the whole bailout BS. I've been asking questions ever since and it seems that there is lots of crap that we are told and taught throughout history that simply isn't the truth. Forgive me for questioning what I'm told rather than just accepting it. I know this is out of the norm in today's day and age which is why people like the bankers can do just about anything they wish and the majority of the public thinks it's being done for the betterment of society rather than the betterment of those people's pockets.

You're correct it's actually been going on since 1972. Reagan supposedly quit funding it during his term but sites were still be designated during the Bush Sr and Clinton years as you will see below. Clinton designated the largest land mass as you will also see below. He supposedly ok'ed the "trusts or organizations." Bush Jr signed us back up for funding in 2003 when he was trying to get support for the war in Iraq. He also tried to designate more land but not sure if it got the ok or not. Not long after people started complaining about the UN plaques going up at the sites so they had to hide them. Alex Jones did a documentary on it and went around to all the sites looking for the plaques. Most were hidden in places where the general public wouldn't see them. There's also controversy behind it because lots of the land has oil reserves, coal reserves etc. I'm still looking for some articles on the "trusts" that are managing them but they are listed on the plaques themselves.

The point is it's about money and nothing else. Organizations like these are setup just so some upper level beaurcrats can sit around getting paid to tell other people what to do and how to do it. I'm looking for some links regarding the "trusts" which are designated on each of the sites for "administrative" purposes.

Here's where it says that the plaques should be visible by the public which they aren't

"the plaque should be so placed that it can easily be seen by visitors, without disfiguring the site;"

You accept stuff from sites like Newsmax, WND, and probably FreeRepublic, without questioning it.

The World Heritage Site program confers no ownership of anything to UNESCO.

Alex Jones did a documentary on it
Ah, Alex Jones. Now he's a true gem. I gather you agree with him that 9/11 was an inside job; that there are RFID tracking devices in twenty dollar bills; and that Obama is the anti-Christ....

All that going on, and you are worried about a couple of parks? Wow.

Well, golly, the Bilderbergers, CFR, Tri-Lateral Commission, Bohemian Grovers, and all of the other elements of the NWO are after our national parks now. I guess they'll run that NAFTA Superhighway right through them and chop down all of the trees to print Amero's in preparation for the coming of the anti-Christ.

Do I have the summary down accurately?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Par...rican_Politics

The Paranoid Style in American Politics is an essay by the American historian Richard J. Hofstadter, first published in Harper's magazine in November 1964. Written at a time when Senator Barry Goldwater had won the Republican Presidential nomination over the more moderate Nelson A. Rockefeller, Hofstadter's article explores the influence of conspiracy theory and "movements of suspicious discontent" throughout American history.

Before you criticize others for being gullible maybe you should look in the mirror. You voted for Barack Obama for president after all and that's about as gullible as it gets.

I do agree 9-11 was an inside job as was 7/7 and Mumbai. The people who hate us for our freedoms are the ones who are taking it away. And it's not Osama doing that. It's proven that every single war that we have ever been in was via a false flag event. Would it be all that surprising that the war on terror was staged as well? Not to me. AJ doesn't say Obama is the anti-christ but does say he won't be our savior which I now agree with. Hell the man behind Obama, Zbigniew Brzenski and his assistant Robert Gates created Al-Qaeda (the database). You see they really are all linked together... As far as those organizations you mentioned if they didn't have anything to hide then why do they hide? Why do our congressmen/women etc have to sneak in? Is it because they could be charged with treason by having secret meeting with other world leaders? This country was founded on the exact opposite of where we are heading and I for one don't care one bit for it.

I'm sure you're one of those that thinks things are going to be all fine and dandy. That these crooks will make it all ok. I for one don't. It's all about control and money to them and they could give one rats *** about this country or it's people. Or any country and it's people for that matter. NAFTA and NAU will come and I'm sure you'll deny it when it does. Or just say "We'll that's just the way it happened." These tin foil hat wearers as you call them have been trying to tell us for years and for years everything they have been saying has been right. I'm sure when the general public thought the world was flat and someone came to them to say it was round they considered him a tin foil hat wearer. They would be really pissed to find that the Sumerians already knew the world was round thousands of years earlier and that certain groups knew this as well. I'm going to continue to listen to the ones who have been right rather than the ones who tell us one thing, do another and are always wrong.

    No, not at all.

I'm just surprised that you believe elements of the US government orchestrated the attacks of 9/11, and you are upset about a few national parks?

    I just find that astonishing.
