Another cheating Senator bites the dust

"When an extortion plot exposed married Republican Sen. Paul Stanley's illicit relationship, he said he would be "clearing up" misimpressions later. He's now clearing out his office, the latest politician caught in a sex scandal, this one made worse by not coming clean."

    Will they ever learn?

I think we all know the answer to that.. The sad thing is we keep electing the same ones over & over & over, and fail to hold them accountable for the most part.

Well he sure did "clear up" misimpressions later...any misimpressions that he is a good clean Republican that is.

Way to go Mr. Abstinence, cheating on your wife...after all practicing what you preach is not a modern conservative practice.

Yeah, democrats don't have genitals, so no worry.

Cheat on your spouse, you are out. Don't bother to read the bills you vote on, that's "OK". Only in America!

Poker- This happens on both sides of the aisle. Why don't you try and not make it so political.

All I got to say is power corrupts in many different ways. Is any surprise that it was Senator??? After all there the most arrogant morally bankrupt people in this country.

It's NOT cheating when your wife knows it! These are politicians, not young boys and girls. Most people have little problem with co-marital sex (whether they admit that stand is another story); my problem with that is, when one acts as if he is a staunch defender of "family values" on the one hand while fooling around like any other "liberals" out there, that's disgustingly hypocritical.

Well first off, it is political, they're politicians and they're dicking off on our dime.

And yes, dems also get caught cheating, but they don't preach family, christian and conservative values ad nauseam BEFORE getting caught.

When Clinton did it, members like Poker had no problem with it.. Is a matter a fact they defended his actions, saying "he's only human" But now that it's a Republican, we hear; "they're dicking off on our dime."

    What a Hypocrite

Voters were outraged, posting hundreds of comments on newspaper Web sites and writing letters to the editor.

We should all be thankful that this was not an incestuous relationship.

It could have been worse. The intern could have been a prostitute, given a nice paying government job to keep him / her close and quiet.

The moral character of the average congressperson is crap.

It's a bit unfair to Bill Clinton. Being the most powerful man on earth (as the POTUS), he would be abusing his power f*cking with ANY woman on earth (except perhaps his wife whom he married well in advance). And yes, I have little problem with Clinton's co-marital sex, ESPECIALLY when his wife KNEW it oh so well. He's not a Catholic priest, for God's sake. I actually have more problem with those who blew (LOL!) this out of proportion.

Tres, assume from your post that you are being sarcastic ...this is just recently, all repubs:

Mark Sanford - called for Clinton to step down from office yet thinks himself above the law and refuses to step down himself.

John Ensign - said Bill Clinton should resign yet has admitted to having an affair and refuses to step down.

Paul Stanley - Finally just resigned after saying he would remain...

Not even bringing up Larry Craig etc...etc...oops guess I just did.

Sarcastic to a point.. I wouldn't leave my daughter alone in the same car with any of them. Let's be honest, there are enough scandals to go around from Barney Frank to Antonio Villaraigosa ( Mayor of LA ). The only real difference is democrats shrug it off, republicans often resign. Why? maybe they're ashamed.. maybe they have more pressure from the media.

Bill Clinton not only violated the public's trust by commiting the act in the White House, but most of all, by intentionally lying to the public about the matter. Here's a link to that classic press release: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpsGryBxyEY . He looked staight at the camera to millions of viewers and boldly lied. The act of adultery is really something to be resolved between he and his wife, but the act of lying enlightened citizens as to whether he should be trusted with responsibility of holding the highest office.

What really is absurd, if not obscene, is how much the man profits from being a former President after such a breach of trust.

But what did you expect? Told the truth like the stupid (or naive) Monica Lewinsky did? Gave a graphic account of how the two of them **** with each other's ******? The Starr "investigation" was an abuse in the first place. After all, that "lie" should NOT (have) hurt his ability to do his job (as the President of the United States), except that the right-wingers tried to (again) blow this out of proportion. Do you honestly believe there is such species as honest adults, not to say we're talking about politicians? They are here to do the dirty jobs FOR US, so don't even expect them to be "decent".

Of course, if you are talking about your trust in him that he would not mess with a young Whitehouse intern, then yes, he did breach that.

Another one of your crap comparisons....

Many Republicans as well as these two called for Clinton to step down because Clinton LIED to a Federal Judge and to the American people on National TV, and tried to cover it up. NOT because of an affair or a BJ from Monica, like you want us to believe....

Do I have to remind you that Clinton was IMPEACHED for Perjury and obstruction of justice?
