| Platinum Lifetime Member | I always liked powell he was pushed out by the bush admin, they lied to powell and then got him to repeat their lies. He got more morals then the bush admin will ever have, it's not right what they did to him. And his backing of obama, was backed up with well reasoned thinking why he is backing him. Obama is moving ahead of mccain right now again, mccain can not control the far right that a fact. Mccain has to win pa or he has no change of winning, and what the odds of that happening.

Country: | Well the double-digit lead seems to be taking root since General Powell's well reasoned endorsement of Barack Obama for POTUS. This is something I had hoped for but being a conservative I always prefer to be cautious. Latest polls can be found at RealClearPolitics.com and Pollster.com. My earlier post in this thread predicted a total of 3-8 point jump in Obama's lead over McCain because of General Powell's endorsement along with the other endorsements last week. I think this is now being expressed in the polls, but remember that rolling polls are usually over 3 days so therefore it will not be until tomorrow that we fully appraise the swing of General Powell's endorsement upon the race. With only 13 days to the election another aspect will be starting to come into play, and that is the 'bandwagon effect'. This could be considerable and could result in many 'safe' Red States turning blue. Here it will be almost as much apathy for the McCain campaign by Republican supporters as it is excitement for the Obama campaign. Here the apathy amoung McCain supporters could be as much as 2 - 3 points off his polling numbers come voting (nobody likes to be on a losing team and excuses not to vote are easily made when it is thought your team has no chance of winning). At the same time people are so enthused by the Obama campaign this could actually up his vote by 3 - 4 points above the polls (people are easily persuaded to go to the trouble of voting if they are on the winning team even though they had no real intention to vote initially). These two effects when combined could lead to an Obama advantage at the General Election of between 5 - 7 points above tomorrows polling numbers (tomorrows numbers because the majority of the rolling polls will then have taken into account this last weekends endorsements). A couple of months ago I predicted that McCain could end up getting less than 100 electoral college votes (here), and it would seem that this could well be the case, there are now several toss-up States including Indiana, Missouri, Georgia, North Dakota, Montana, some pollsters also include or have included Arkansas, Louisiana, South Dakota, West Virginia, and even Arizona has been plied. The big question though is will McCain be able to turn out his Texas vote, at the moment I give him only a 75/25 chance on that, and that could well diminish over the last 13 days.

Country: | I am aware of the importance of national security to any country, I don't need 9/11 to know that. The fact is we haven't become safer after 9/11. We have only lost more of our freedoms to the government and bureaucracy which was incompetent in protecting the country in the first place, becoming a poorer country at the same time.

| Platinum Lifetime Member | Obama supporters need to watch closely, when obama goes to see his dieing grandmom. It seems like mccain and palin may try some thing then, it's mccains last hope and they will come out fighting then, they will kick a man when he is down even harder, so be very watchful. Obama needs to let biden handle it, he knows how to deal with pit bulls and mad hockey moms. But warn him to not go over board, this will show just how mean the mccain camp really is. And if they do attack then, biden could finish off mccain for good when they do. Edited In: Mccain needs PA and he going all out here, so biden and hillary may want to come here while obama away.

And it comes as no surprise you would feel the same way Poker does, since you both share the same Astrological sign Here you display just how immature you are... If he's elected, it wont cause me any pain, why would it? It's the pain it will cause the American people I'm mostly worried about. Last edited by Raider; 10-22-2008 at 05:20 PM..
