Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!Obama and the dumbocrats spent the great majority of the first 2 years ramming Nationalized Health Care down our throats, claiming that if every tax payer does not participate, the program wont work.
Once passed, it didn't take long for Obama and the Dumbocrats to grant "waivers" to their closest allies, Unions and supporters, many of which donate heavily to their campaigns...
And let's not forget the very congress and it's staffers who wrote the Health Care legislation are the same ones who chose to EXEMPT themselves from it.
This double standard could be one of the reasons why 75% want the bill changed and 58% want it repealed, according to Rasmussen.
Pawlenty: Pelosi's health-care waivers akin to 'crony capitalism'
Republican presidential candidates spoke out against waivers granted to some of the biggest cheerleaders for the health care, with former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty calling Nancy Pelosi's waivers 'crony capitalism.'
In April, the Obama administration issued waivers to businesses that had expressed a need to be exempt from the mandates required in the federal health care reform legislation, known as the Affordable Care Act.
20 percent of the waivers granted nationally were for businesses residing in Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi's district.
By many regards, Pelosi was the public face on the aggressive push to pass the government-sponsored health care bill, and the revelation that her constituents were among the first to seek exemption from the legislation and that Pelosi was granted such a generous waiver allotment has caused a stir among Republicans.
Republican presidential candidate and former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty joined a chorus of Conservative criticism, saying of the waivers that it is "crony capitalism."
Speaking with Fox News' Sean Hannity, Pawlenty said the mandate waivers are "another example of really crony politics or crony capitalism, if you've got the right connections, the right lobbyists, the right interest group, you get your special deal, and the rest of us get our wallet out, and that's in the tax code, it's in earmarking, and now you see it in ObamaCare," according to a column in The New American.
"On May 13, the Obama administration announced the approval of 204 new waivers from compliance with the PPACA," The National Review Online notes in its analysis of the matter. "That brings to 1,372 the number of waivers HHS has granted in the 14 months since the law’s passage. The waivers are temporary, designed to prevent wholesale bankruptcies of insurance and other companies before most of the law’s provisions take full effect in 2014. “We are committed to making the waiver process transparent to the public,” an HHS spokesman offered reassuringly. But while the identities of those who have received waivers have been disclosed, the administration has so far declined to reveal the names of those whose waiver requests were denied. Nor has HHS explained its criteria."
However, the waivers in Pelosi's district have been explained as a product of the health care administrator Flex Plan Services and not the result of Nancy Pelosi's influence.
But Pawlenty attributes the waivers to the difficulties imposed by the health care law's mandates.
"I don't blame people for trying to get out from underneath it — that it is an awful law," Pawlenty said. "But when you have that many needs for exemptions, it tells you that the law — it is a warning sign that the law is broken and doesn't work."

Over Half of All Obamacare Waivers Given to Union Members
The Weekly Standard - Mark Hemingway
May 16, 2011
In what is fast becoming a weekly event, the Obama administration granted 200 more companies waivers from the Democrats' sweeping health care law in the Friday night news dump. That brings the number of companies receiving waivers to 1,372. (You can get a full list of the companies exempted here.)
Not surprisingly, it helps to be a Democratic ally when seeking a waiver. The Republican Policy Committee reports that over half of the workers that have been exempted so far belong to unions:
The plans newly approved for waivers cover more than 160,000 people, bringing to nearly 3.1 million the number of individuals in plans exempted from the health law’s requirements. Of the participants receiving waivers, more than half – over 1.55 million – are in union plans, raising questions of why such a disproportionate share of union members are receiving waivers from the law’s requirements. The percentage of participants receiving waivers that come from unions also continues to rise – the number was 48% in April, and 45% in March.
Unions already received a generous concession in the health care bill. Their generous "cadilac" insurance plans were exempted from being taxed until 2018, adding about $120 billion to the bill’s cost over ten years. For more on how the administration has helped unions, see my story in THE WEEKLY STANDARD from a few weeks ago.

In 2014 when Health Care is implemented and millions of taxpayers across the USA are forced to purchase health care insurance they cant afford, or face penalties, your going to have a lot of people caring. Americans should be outraged over this.
I've been there and I couldn't agree with you more.

Look like somebody needs to be schooled on the meaning of "Crony Capitalism";
"Crony capitalism" or "crapitalism" is a pejorative term describing a capitalist economy in which success in business depends on an extremely close relationship between the businessman and the state institutions of politics and government, rather than by the espoused "equitable" concepts of the free market, open competition, and economic liberalism. It may be exhibited by favoritism in the distribution of legal permits, government grants, special tax breaks, and so forth.
Crony capitalism arises when political cronyism spills over into the world of business, and the relationships between powerful businessmen and powerful politicians form a kind of aristocratic social hierarchy, influenced by self-serving friendships and family ties, to the extent that it corrupts public-serving economic and political ideals.

Socialism, capitalism, fascism...pick on.
I am far from needing someone to explain to me crony or cronyism...my point was pick one, stick with it...are we capitalists? Or is it socialists?
Why not crony socialists? Seemed to have been a shitpile of members here claiming we were heading to socialism.
I do see, however, that she can not even think for herself and combine the two words. Crony Socialists works just as well as Crony Capitalists.
The emphasis obviously is on crony and cronyism. But, the inability to think for herself again shows itself. She needs to see it said or mentioned by someone else so she can post it here. The obvious is just not so obvious to some.
Ergo, crony capitalists goes totally against all the other regurgitated socialists claims made in thread after thread on this forum.
So, again I ask...capitalists or socialist? How about facsism?

Wasn't it you who was slapped down a couple days ago for doing the very thing your doing here? Ah, here it is;
That would be a welcome change from pouring Purina dog chow on your nuts and having your dogs go at it.![]()
