Some good points.
Not sure where USA is going as a nation.

Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!The Democrats had better develop a spine and make some hard proposals on immigration, energy conservation, climate change, job creation and other issues before the November elections. Otherwise, I have no doubt they will lose to the Republicans in November. It is the independent votes that will swing the elections.
4 years is a long time to test public reactions and sensitivities. 4 years is a long time to develop possible solutions for all the multiple issues that Washington has to deal with. And four years is also a long time to solidify your stance on all these issues. Not that the Dems didn't try. They really did.
But they forgot somethings. They seem to have forgotten that they represent Main street and not Wall street. Don't fight hard enough for Main street and you lose your seat. Plain and simple. They seem to have forgotten that they represent the majority of independents and not the Republican base. They seem to have forgotten that the hard working American's pocket was losing the dollar faster than it could keep it. So when it comes to making compromises on health care you keep them in mind not lobbyists. A public option would not have killed big insurance or stifled capitalism. It would have only forced health insurance companies to be more competitive there by delivering better service. As of today 56% of Americans are not satisfied with the provisions of the newly passed health care bill. Go figure.
They seem to have forgotten that Green is really big business for everyone and when an oil rig blows up it's the time to support tough environmentally sound initiatives e.g don't drill offshore. They seem to have forgotten that they are the party that universally believes climate change ain't a joke. They seem to have forgotten that supporting financial regulation doesn't mean they are socialists even if Mr. John Doe thinks they are interfering with the markets.
During the last few years it has been unfortunate that the majority party wasn't able to solidify its identity in the minds of Americans. A golden opportunity missed. I won't be surprised if the GOP has sweeping victories during the November elections. And to think that the Republicans could win just because no one knows what the Dems stand for without wavering, is just stupid.

Regardless of party affiliation, I think it is going to be bad for any incumbent to keep their seat.
Numerous seats are going to change hands.
And there may not be a power shift.
All anyone should hope for is that the persons who do get elected have only the best and honest plans for ALL of America and the rest of the world. Wait, we are talking about Politicians, never mind... End of the world 2012.... -_-

Where have you been? Democrats have already proposed everything your citing here.
They already proposed a Immigration Bill, a Bill that gives Amnesty to 10.8 Million Illegal Aliens, while not securing the US Mexican border. Not a very popular position with US Voters who are still very angry over Democrats opposition to the Arizona Law.
"Climate Change" Fancy new wording for "Cap and Tax" Democrats proposed this too and Harry Reid scrapped it 2 months ago, Seems they don't have the enough Democrats in their own party to pass Obama's massive National Energy Tax, A Tax we will all have to pay... So much for NO Tax increases for Families earning less than $250K.
"Job Creation" This was proposed and passed over a year ago, the Job Stimulus Bill remember? The Bill that cost US Tax payers $787 BILLION Dollars and proved to be complete FAILURE..... And you want Democrats to run on passing another one?. LMAO.
Yeah, these proposals should go over real well with voters, Democrats running on issues their own party FAILED on or issues Voters OPPOSE.
