I am in shock and horrified at the updated news out of Oslo.

What was initially reported as about 20 having been shot at the youth camp is now over 80 DEAD!

Perhaps countries opposed to will now rethink the death penalty.

Yesterday was a terrible day. 84 kids (!) are now confirmed shot dead and 7 are confirmed dead from the bombings. Today is the saddest day in the history of Norway.

Most of us still can't believe it. Norway is such a small country (at least in population), so everyone knows someone who knows someone who were on that island.

If I'm understanding it correctly, the vid is a preview of his massive manifesto. This stuff looks like it took half a decade to put together. There is a literal bible size level of ideology behind this. I think the one man theory goes pretty much out the window, even if that's all they're able to pin it on.

The left vs right political paradigm in Europe is beginning to boil, madman factor aside. It's happening in the US as well, as we saw with the recent political massacre there (Tucson). The media is flaming it all.

Hopefully moderates can soften the overall climate / tone, or it's just going to get worse.

This cant be right... 92 pre-meditated murders and this vermin is going to serve less than 4 months for each murder?

He's 32 years old, so he'll be out when he's 51? And I thought our legal system was **cked up.

What they should really do is put him a cell with a 1000 large rats, close the door and throw away the key... **ck what the rest of the world thinks.

Unfortunately they wont do anything like this, They wont even do the right thing by putting a bullet in his head like the Soviets did with Evilenko when he raped and mutilated 50 children.. The Soviet Unions most notorious serial killer.

You can argue for or against capital punishment all you want, but one thing you can never argue against is that by killing him, he will NEVER, EVER be able to KILL again.

What a HORRIBLE thing to do to so many innocent children, the fear they must of felt knowing they were going to die... The Families must be in shock, horrified by the loss of their loved ones, The impact of losing your child, Parents NEVER recover from that, their lives are completely destroyed... We can only HOPE that somebody kills the vermin in prison before he's released.

Norway's justice system is indeed f*cked up. No matter what terrible acts a person does, he can't get more than 21 years in prison and the worst part is, that if you behave properly while in jail you only serve 2/3rds of the time (although I don't think a 2/3 sentence is an option in this case). He will be isolated, so unfortunately no other inmates can get to him in any way either. He just stated in interrogations that what he did was "gruesome, but necessary". What a sick, sick man.

Raider, such a "man" if ever gets out from jail... Do you think he can survive anywhere in the country? As Stian wrote, it is a small country with small population, nearly everyone knew someone on the island and was effected by this.
About the video: typical nationalistic crap, nothing new there, he just tried to be a mini-hitler. It's very grotesque how he is calling his countrymen as "brothers" in the video and then goes on to massacre them.
