45,000/year die in 'normal' flu season

90,000 expected to die this time around.

More of these will be young and 'otherwise healthy'. We had a healthy 20 year old die from swine flu here a couple of months ago.

You do realize that using the SARS "pandemic", "epidemic", or whatever actually hurts your case right?

Do you know how many cases/deaths there were during the outbreak?

Swine flu may or may not turn out to be bigger and more potent than normal flu season, but trusting the government agencies and media is not likely to mirror what will really occur this season - they usually get it wrong.

Sars and Canada are perhaps the most recent examples I could think of to demonstrate the unknown etiology and pathology, let alone a nation being ill prepared and caught off guard.

The reality is many models of preparedness and outbreaks are being made based on hard data regarding the sars.

How you choose to percieve SARS or bird flu is entirely up to you.

Just as many here think obama's birth certificate is bullshit and many think the swine flu is bullshit others do not.

What is bullshit is the homeland security recommending everyone buy duct tape and plastic sheathing to protect you from radiation poisoning.

As for the CDC better spending its time to save 800,000 hospital infections, that is a local hospital issue. CDC tracks the incidence of but does not do anything short of having to walk someone to the sink and wash their hands.

If you are concerned about hospital infections, well...don't get sick and go to the hospital.
