That's what religion is as far as I'm concerned. Take the fear factor and the other nonsense out of it.

It's not that the Matrix is a religion. The Matrix is a dream world, you can be outside of this dream world in many ways. But the more you learn about different things in life the further outside of that dream world created by whatever you follow you become. Let's use TV as an example. 9 times out of 10 everything you see on your TV is a distortion of the truth depending on where you live and who's saying it. If you live in the US and you're watching Condoleeza Rice tell us that the Iraqi people see us as liberators one day and the next day you see a reporter throwing his shoes at Bush while the Iraqi people praise the guy. (As do I BTW) The Federal Reserve system as another. It's a 100 year old lie and if you know the truth you are again outside of that matrix. If you believe that Jesus wasn't born on December 25th then you are outside of that matrix. You get the idea. The more that you learn the further outside the dream world matrix you become.

Trinity: I know why you're here, Neo. I know what you've been doing... why you hardly sleep, why you live alone, and why night after night, you sit by your computer. You're looking for him. I know because I was once looking for the same thing. And when he found me, he told me I wasn't really looking for him. I was looking for an answer. It's the question that drives us, Neo. It's the question that brought you here. You know the question, just as I did.

    Neo: What is the Matrix?

Trinity: The answer is out there, Neo, and it's looking for you, and it will find you if you want it to.

Morpheus: The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

    Neo: What truth?

Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind.

Morpheus: I'm trying to free your mind, Neo. But I can only show you the door. You're the one that has to walk through it.

Morpheus: Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?

Morpheus: Welcome to the real world.

Neo: I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without you. A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.

on a related note...The philosophies of the matrix is a good book...

Be sure to never write or accept yourself in all capital letters - that means you are a corporation (and property of the state and above that - the queen of england)

I suppose it would have gone too far for people recently being 'deprogrammed' to understand how the British royalty owns America like stock, in fact you can even look up yourself (if american) on the new york stock exchange...type in the number found in the bottom left of your birth certificate..

I happen to be a Christian minister and evangelist, doing Internet ministry since 1995, and have run many large Christian informational sites. If anyone is interested, they can view some of my 34 books/writings on various Christian topics. Hope the below links to my resources are helpful to your discussion here about God.

I have been a Christian domainer active on DNF for many years.

View or print my writings (in PDF format) from my site: Delivering Hope

If you are looking for a one page Christian tract to answer your questions about God, you can download this at:
    Christian Tract

I would be happy to do my best to answer questions.

Currently my site is under major construction with a recent server move, and many of the links are broken. Please focus now on the "Christian Writings" section on the left hand column of the main page to see some of my writings about God.

I see many on this thread have labelled preachers unfairly. Not all ministers (or preachers) are after money. I do not go around asking for thousands of dollars, and in fact, regularly preach for free at various churches and ministry events without asking for anything. I do ask for a small fee for my music and books, but give away KJV Bibles, some of my music and some of my writings for free. I believe that a laborer is worthy of his hire.

It is unfortunate that there are some high profile people on T.V. and at various churches that give a less than stellar reputation to the ministry of Jesus Christ. In any profession (lawyers, business) you have good people, and not so honest people. We, ministers, though should be held to a high standard, as we are dispensing the Word Of Truth. I apologize for any people in ministry that might have let you down, or in any way tarnished the Gospel message.

The problem with "God" is most "Believers" think of God as some seperate being from themselves "out there somewhere". God is a state of being, not a being. Even Jesus said " The kingdom of heaven is within you" literalist christians by the billions are blinded by their own religion by not understanding what Jesus really meant.
