    God

I posted this in this thread http://www.dnforum.com/f526/any-athe...ad-296735.html but some numbnuts deleted it. Your thoughts?

Believing there is a God is no different than believing there is a tooth fairy.
Who created God and why has she stopped doing miraculous things like parting the Red Sea?
I asked a religious nut once, Isn't it bad that God killed all those in the Egyptian army? They were just doing their job following their leader's orders. The ones that had children, those children had to grow up without a father thanks to God. She said it's blasphemy to question God.

God is a multi-trillion dollar industry. A Fort Worth TV evangelist, Kenneth Copeland, is trying to avoid paying taxes on a 3.6 million dollar jet he uses to take personal leisure trips around the world. It is one of many jets the ministry owns and they have a private runway.

I enjoy watching TV evangelists to see how they con people into sending them money. The common pitch is you send them a $1,000 seed money and you'll sow $10,000 in cash or something worth $10,000. What is particularly hideous is when they look into the camera and say I sense someone is out there with some ailment and insinuate if you send money the ailment will go away.

I think churches have a social purpose and wouldn't be too bad if they didn't focus on cult like worshiping of something that doesn't exist.

Most people believe there is a God because their parents told them there is a God. Others have had some random occurrence happen in their lives that makes them believe.

I am still not opposed to becoming a believer. It's going to take more than a preacher with his hand out to convince me though.

    Nothing wrong with your post.
It's sad that most preachers are crooks and con.

However, I think mod deleted your post because "Domainer's Group" isn't proper
    section for your post.

I don't think Mod will delete your post if you posted on "Politics/Controversial" section.

BTW, nice Sig although little late

You have to make up your own mind about whether there is a god or not. Having a belief in god requires that you make a leap of faith. If you can't or won't do that then it may not be for you.

BTW..... I posted in that other thread and mine was removed also. What did you say that was so bad?

Human consciousness is the biggest faith based endeavor of them all. Faith is inseparable from humanity, you can attempt to pull the two apart to chastise one or the other, but in the end you'll always be left holding two very humble handfuls of wet human clay.

I say run wild, exercise a curious spirit, have faith in anything you deem worthy, because in the end we all die. Human truth is inherently flawed, the safety net claimed by the so called non religious rational consensus is made of silly string, and is as fallible as the man that believes all the mysteries of life exist in the tartness of a strawberry.

...a limp imagination is the entitlement of the dead, why hasten your inheritance.

I was simply trying to recruit new members to the group. I'm sure the OP didn't mind.

I should put "Palin for President 2012" now. I believe in miracles.

    I love God.

In fact, somedays I ask my kids, "Who's your daddy?. and they would reply, "God".

Then who's the devil? ... mommy.

On a serious note, I think belief is what makes things to become. If you believe in success then you'll become successful. If you believe in God then there is a God.

And as for parting the Red Sea ... today they call it "Flood".

You seem more antagonistic than your usual self... God, religion, Obama... what's really bothering you Sir Fearless? If it's women, I can relate, I've been married for quite some time.

Fringe benefits?. ... all I know is that somebody had to create the universe, gives us sun, rain and air, etc. ... and it wasn't man. That's enough fringe benefits for me.

I just cant help but think those who are so convinced that there is only one possible outcome after life and only hell or heaven have been influenced to believe so throughout their lives. It just seems so closed minded to think their religion just happens to the one true one. No one will ever truely know, you can believe, have faith but the truth is no one knows for sure. I can believe the earth is flat, but that doesn't make it so. Man's ego might think he has the ability to know the mysteries of this life but its all just more or less folklore that has been passed down for generations.

Do you have any knowledge of how this somebody was able to put that off?

Is this somebody somewhere outside the universe?

Is this somebody larger than the universe?

Is this somebody still creating other universes?

Does this somebody own any domain names?

Could this somebody be an army of somebodies just watching us like an ant farm?

I think in a few hundred years the people on earth will chuckle at the silliness of people today similar to how we chuckle at people that thought they could sail off the edge of the earth.

Sorry, but that is such a cop out.
You unquestioningly believe that someone made all that?
It's every bit as likely that no one made any of that and it just is and always was.
The only reason why you feel that things had to have a time when they didn't exist is because, as a being that perceives time in a linear fashion, you cannot actually know & comprehend a world before or after the time/space in which you exist, and therefore must believe that like yourself, there is a time before and after all things, and that something must have created what's in the middle...

Furthermore, to say "god made it" brings up the logical extension of 'who made god?"

Your post, and a few others, were deleted because they were off-topic and were not appropriate for that subforum. That subforum is for the foundation and recruiting for domainer groups (based on geographic, religious, style, etc..).

And to answer your question in that thread, yes, I deleted them.

... everything is all speculation unless we've been there to witness each event unfold so what I say may not jive with other peoples interpretation and I can dig that.

My final post and its off to see the wizard.
