So I take it republicans feel that if everyone in the party is not far right, they should be pushed out or leave the party. And as the old saying goes, watch what you ask for as you may just get it.

And by the looks of it they are getting what they ask for, and they are getting fewer and fewer in their ranks, the fact is the republican party pushed Arlen Specter out. A man that been in the party for 30 years now, and they got another republican to run after his job.

Why don't the republican party get rush and palin to run, they are as far right as anyone can get and not get arrested. They should be the republicans party's god send, why don't rush want to run for the party. He must have some pretty bad things in his closet, we already know palin has way to much stuff in her closet.

    Joe Lieberman anyone?

He never towed the party line, but they had some real values not just talk the talk. I don't mind anyone breaking with the party line, like MCcain as he had real values he would not break with and that good. Only when he run for priz he lost him self, the left in the republican party, is what made me want to be a republican before.

But when it went to far right they went to far, it was not about values anymore. But about being right at all cost, then they start to punish anyone that didn't tow the party line. Even now they can't bear, to admit they was wrong and are sorry for what they done to our country.

Funny the republican party is far right and most dems, are more like the left of the republican party use to be. The truth is a republican has little chance of winning in PA, bush and the far right done so much damage. It will take some pretty bad mess ups from the dems, to get the votes needed for a republican to win.

Dems took 70% of the vote in much of PA, even MCcain could pull off a win here. Obama is not even close to being far left, he pretty much in the middle. Well thought out choices, and good reasoning backed up by real values. You may not like his choice, but he stay with his values 100% of the time. And he hears the other side, then rethinks and is willing to change as needed.

    Disagree tas
Lieberman did tow the party line, except when it pertained to national security and he lost the 'D' next to his name because of it. Because of that 1 issue out of dozens, Ned Lamont got the nod.

Anyway, that bastard talked about segregation while raping black girls.
His black daughter, now 75, waited till the a-hole died to announce that. Her mother was 15 working on Thurmond's farm when she got raped by Strom.
Nixon talked about freedom while raping the country.

    Take that back!

Jesse Helms - the MIND of the GOP.

On the senate floor he described AIDS as being "God's way of punishing the homosexuals".

What does this have to do with Senator Specter?

Are you having one of those nutty liberal moments of yours? Maybe you need to seek medical help.

Not defending Strom Thurmond but he didn't rape Carrie "Tunch" Butler. The South Carolina State Constitution states that the legal age of Sexual Consent for an unmarried woman was 14 years of age back then. He was 22 she was 16. You also leave out that he supported His daughter, Essie Mae Washington-Williams financially throughout her childhood/adult life.

BTW....Strom Thurmond was a Democrat most of his life. I like how you left that out.

    Yes, there is.

I am proud to be represented by the cream of the crop of the country's great thinkers and orators from North Carolina.

Virginia Foxx won Senator Jesse Helms seat.

A couple of weeks ago form the same podium used by Jesse Helms and on the same US Senate floor, she called the Death of Matthew Shepard "a hoax".

She apologized the next day saying, "she had her facts wrong."

    No Shit???

Then, of course, we were graced by Elizabeth Dole for 8 years. One of the biggest under the table money taking Senators EVER in the history of NC. Claimed she was a resident of NC because her mother lived here. She won the GOP ticket. In the 6 years she represented the state of NC, she had spent a grand total of less than 6 trips and stays in NC until she started slipping in the poles last fall when she got her butt beat.

She spent all her time at their Kansas home with hubby Former Senator/GOP candidate Bob Dole.
