Dot Eco said in its release it is interested in establishing the domain "for individuals to express their support for environmental causes, for companies to promote their environmental initiatives, and for environmental organizations to maintain their Web sites in a namespace that is more relevant to their core missions."

These same environmental wackos are using the word "green" and "climate" in their dot com's, so why the need for a dedicated TLD? Do they think it will draw more traffic to their already BORING web sites?...LMAO!!!

I think its a great idea. It will help promote the preservation of our ecology by providing a much broader and more relevant domain world to the internet....one that specifically applies to green alternative energies and the fight against global warming.

I don't know how a new tld such as .eco could be fairly distributed but I do know it would be in great demand. Can you imagine what Green.eco would be worth?

yes, it will look real great as soon as the "Global Cooling" data makes it's way into our Media and into the public.

Gore is going to look real bad here soon.Yes that is right, the scientific data actually shows a "Global Cooling" trend and not a "Global Warming"

Well, I sure hope you're right but unfortunately only the sceptic's data points to that....the great majority of valued opinions still says global warming is real and continuing, in spite of the cooler weather in many places. The problem is many people confuse current weather change with global climate change. They are separate issues.

Many argue that Global Warming comes from skeptic data, theory, and broken science as well.

I lean towards "Global Hokes" particularly in our country as a way to tax, and gain control of our pretend "Freedoms"

Of course you do... However the same argument could apply to other notable causes and ICANN knows it. It will be interesting to see if they approve it, thereby opening the door to more useless TLD's.
