But....I don't favor the public option in the bill....I agree with those who support a bill without government being in competition with the private sector. Government has proven beyond any doubt it cannot run a program this large without it costing 2 or 3 times as much as it should because of greed and coruption which is a direct result of a lack of supervision and punishment of those involved.
DOA when it reached the Senate...
The sad thing is that in the USA (I don't know how Japan is) they'll stress on one or two seemingly HUGE benefits and display them as vague as they can.
"HEALTH CARE FOR ALL AMERICANS!!!"
Well? How much does it cost us? What is covered? HOW is it covered? Will I have to change doctors or pharmacies? Who is covering any shortages? Ect...
They might wave a flag with one or two specific benefits for most people "No deductibles for office visits" and so on but in reality the biggest benefactors of it are the insurance companies who have half of our government on their "payroll".
Say they spend $60 billion to cover roughly 300 million US citizens - that's $200 a person. But, they won't tell us this. They'll say it's a $250 billion plan and won't mention that $190 billion will go to insurance companies as a "bail out" and out of that - probably $170 billion will go towards bonuses.
Who would get screwed? Us (the taxpayers), then the hospitals since they'll either stay at the same level of income (which is piss poor) or get less income, and then the doctors who won't see any pay increases yet their costs will rise.
THAT is how US bureaucracy works. A new report came out that 25% of the jobs "saved" in California from the stimulus were never in jeopardy. How were those jobs saved??

Quite courageous of you saying so sir!But....I don't favor the public option in the bill....I agree with those who support a bill without government being in competition with the private sector.
