The European Union is a good example that a global government would not work.

First there is the beaurocracy, which is stifling at best - stupid and unworkable the rest of the time. Some countries follow the rules and some don't, so what's the point?

Then there's the dillution of national identity - no one wants to call themself a 'European' - we're British or French or Spanish, Italian, German....

Trust in America has fallen to all time lows thanks to the last 8 years of 'Rule by Fear' government - if our government(s) were to suggest globalising, there would be uproar.

Or maybe I am being naive; maybe we already have global rule? The UK already does whatever the US wants us to...

The Fed is now trying to push through Congress bypassing the Treasury altogether. They want to no longer have to ask the Treasury to issue bonds/currency to sell their own and basically have an unchecked balance sheet. Treasury bonds are now trading in the negative
