I would like to respond to something someone said about me that I was unaware of until this morning. And while I was responding to the allegations, the thread was closed.

I just got back from the dentist so we'll see how this goes:

My response is to this accusation:

    http://www.dnforum.com/f254/obama-er...ml#post1629239

It's amazing Doc, you parade these images of African Woman and Children like you really care, but you trash the very Man who has done MORE for Africa than any other President in history, How he attacked poverty and ended the war in Sudan, between North & South.

Where do you credit Bush for this? YOU DON'T! The problem with you and people like you is; your so wrapped up in your hatred over Iraq and the economy that you don't have the courage to acknowledge the positives he's done... Last I checked, the figure was 4 BILLION in AID to Africa per year, not to mention the largest investment in AIDS and fighting malaria in history.

But no, my guess is your going to come back and complain that Bush didn't do enough in Darfur, rather than acknowledging the above... It's time you grow up and stop being such an ungrateful hypocrite.
Lets get some facts straight, historical facts and the "hypocritical" facts.

It will take all of about three minutes to read this, about the same amount of time it took me to find something that sounded so vaguely familiar.

Seems I had to set you straight on this very Africa Issue once before:

where you were attempting to use the passage of this bill to portray Obama as bankrupting the country...

but now you want to use aid to Africa as kudos for Bush? and ending a war in Sudan (aka - Dafur)?

    Get it straight - again.

    (9) At the summit of the Group of Eight (G-8) nations in July 2005, leaders from all eight participating countries committed to increase aid to Africa from the current $25,000,000,000 annually to $50,000,000,000 by 2010, and to cancel 100 percent of the debt obligations owed to the World Bank, African Development Bank, and International Monetary Fund by 18 of the world's poorest nations.
Remember how you voiced your opposition for the original thread that dealt with a $845 billion dollar price tag to combat Global poverty?

and that Obama was going to bankrupt the country?

And I had to set you straight and help you get your facts straight by pointing out that it was Barack Obama who sponsered the bill to require the president to make good on a pledge he made in 2005 (references made in that post):

    110th CONGRESS Calendar No. 718

    1st 110th CONGRESS

    2d Session

    S. 2433

    [Report No. 110-331]

To require the President to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the United States foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day.

IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES

    December 7, 2007

Mr. OBAMA (for himself, Mr. and HAGEL, Ms. CANTWELL, Mrs. FEINSTEIN, Mr. LUGAR, Mr. DURBIN, Mr. MENENDEZ, Mr. BIDEN, Mr. DODD, Mr. FEINGOLD, Ms. SNOWE, Mrs. MURRAY, Mr. HARKIN, Mr. JOHNSON, Mr. SMITH, and Mr. KERRY) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations

Is this the same bill that you are now wanting to give Bush credit for?

A bill sponsored By Barack Obama?

That same African aide that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice states

State Department officials say that foreign assistance has doubled since 2000 under President Bush, but that large sums of money have been spun off to other agencies in the State Department.

Simply because he stated (on his way out of the door) in June 2008 that he was making Africa a top priority?

It will be a priority while he is in Crawford, Texas?

The same priorities that he left for the next administration to deal with and handle?

Hells bells, he could have said he was making Raider's charisma a priority and that doesn't mean squat if he doesn't do it.

And you now want to spin this whole Africa bill around and tell me that I should give him credit?

The same Africa bill that you condemned as being part of the Obama plan for socialism and bankrupt the country?

And you want me to give credit to Bush for ending the strife and genocide in Dafur and Sudan?

After he ignored that issue for nearly 6 years?

After hundreds of thousands had been killed and millions displaced into refuge camps?

Here is what I give credit to:

I give credit to The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for doing more to treat poverty, Aids, and hunger than any country in the world because their own country and government was doing nothing.

I give credit to actors from Hollywood and Musicians from all over the world that made their voices heard to help call attention to the genocide in Africa as the Bush Administration failed to even acknowledge or even mention until 2007 only to voice his support for the UN sanctions.

And you call me an "ungrateful hypocrite"?

I guess it is time for an ungrateful hypocrite to eat her own words.

Bush's infamous "16 words" that led to the invasion of Iraq:

The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.
A recently released report on the presidential IQ makes a fun read; apparently, GW Bush has 1/2 the IQ of Bill Clinton's

Took me about 3 seconds to recognize the lingo, about 3 minutes to find the thread, and perhaps 5 minutes to bang it out.

It was so easy to find because it was almost repeating my words.

Typesetting and typewriting were required classes for me.

Thanks to years of documenting and typing.

All the fun of being able to type so fast.

Feel free to bash and trash.

Me? I'm cooking supper! Italian tonight!

Great post Doc, but I've got to say - for all the effect it'll have on Raider's opinions, you may as well have drawn a picture of a duck...you can't force intelligence on anyone.
