"I Hate Your Dream" - Glen Beck August 28, 2010

For those who have not yet heard, Glen "certifiable" Beck is planning to give a speech on August 28, the same date and location that Martin Luther King gave his world famous "I Have a Dream" speech. Beck has publicly stated that he did not realize it was the same date and location. He's selling it as a rally to "Restore Honor" and actually claims that it is a non-political event despite booking Palin as a prominent speaker.

At first Beck labeled it an educational seminar, then a political rally, then it became a book release party, then morphed into a veterans benefit, then it was sold as a civil rights rally, next a celebration of MLK, then it became a religious revival and now finally it is being sold as a rally to "Restore Honor". It seems the rally is as mixed up and psychotic as Beck himself.

It's not clear yet what Beck is going to title his actual speech, after all it could change at any minute, but it will probably come down to two final choices:
"I have a Scheme" or "I Hate Your Dream".

The following is what we can expect to hear from Beck judging from his rants on Fox news. It's an Edited excerpt from the famous MLK "I Have a Dream speech" given on August 28, 1963, Washington, D.C. Apologies (in advance) to MLK.

"I Hate Your Dream" - Glen Beck August 28, 2010

I say to you today Martin Luther King, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still hate your dream, even if it is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I hate your dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I hate your dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.

I hate your dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I hate your dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I hate your dream today.

I hate your dream that one day the state of Alabama, whose governor's lips are presently dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, will be transformed into a situation where little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers.

I hate your dream today.

I hate your dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

Yes, not a political rally. Yup, Sarah Palin as the keynote speaker - no way is this a political rally.

Heard this on CNN early this morning.

As for the suppositions of what he is going to say, lets wait until after he speaks.

Palin, of course, is appearing for free since this is a revival. Surely she would charge money to speak at a Restore Honor rally.

Speaking of which, did you hear Bristol Palin is going to be on Dancing With the Stars? Wow, I will be sure to tune in even though it will be the first episode I have ever seen. I mean, she is a model citizen for young girls all across this nation. Can you imagine how stellar she'll be?

And her ex? Levi? Now he is in the news saying he is sorry for saying he's sorry to Sarah Palin.

Seriously, I am glued to my seat just waiting to pick up some more juicy gossip on the Palin's. They are such talented, well groomed, thoughtful, caring, outstanding Christians that deserve every moment in the headlines that the networks can spare.

Hey's actually kiind of funny to watch... in a 'Special Olympics' kind of way.

Even funny when The Daily Show shows his contradictory rants back to back. Loved his recent one where went on and on about how anyone who says the US shares the blame for 9/11 should be deported.... then they show a clip of Beck himself on a different rant saying the US shares the blame for 9/11! So why hasn't he deported himself yet?

Maybe this is a Restore Humor rally? Honor has to be a typo. I mean, cmon...where's the honor in Beck and Palin on the same stage. It is some serious humor, a la Stand Up Comedy, when a governor who quit her job to sell a book and go on tour talks about honor.

Here's some truth among the false dribble being written here.
Dr. Alveda King, M.L. King Jr.'s niece, is a regular on Glenn Beck's show and they get along just fine.
I think she's more qualified to judge Beck's intentions than most.
She will be speaking at the event and considers it an honor.

Oh of course, after all, being someone's niece automatically makes one qualified to represent their Uncle after his passing, no matter what their ideological differences. Just as I am sure you support Ron Reagan's authority to represent his father Ronald Reagan now that he has passed, even more so since he is immediate family.

When is Glenn Beck going to deport himself for the comment that he made about 9/11, for which he himself said anyone making that statement should be deported? Since I don't watch Fox News, can you give me a date or a time frame on that self deportation? I mean, if he doesn't do it, that would make him a hypocrit.

Instead of a rally for restore hope, how about a few constructive ideas?

And if you want to "take back America", exactly what do you want to take back America from? and from who?

And Glen Beck is saying it was a "divine intervention" coincidence that he scheduled this day for the rally and on the same spot and same day of anniversary of MLK's address?

Please don't tell me he has God number one on his speed dial.

It should be scary for anyone with a brain in their head. Glenn Beck doesn't even belive in the crap he spouts. He changes his views to whatever will get the rabble the most worked up at the time. I very..very much doubt he has any popularity outside of the US...

Notice this too Don, the same members who post this BS against conservatives, are the same members who pumped Obama up before and shortly after the election, The same Liberal donkeys; Poker, Doc Com, Juniperpark... I can name more but I'll only name the donks who posted in this thread.

You remember all the hope and high expectations they had about him? It was short lived too. And notice they rarely if ever praise him for anything, they would look even more asinine if they did.

Instead, all we see out of these donkeys, is trashing any popular conservative who criticizes Obama's failed policies; Beck, Rush, Palin Fox and almost every conservative on this Forum.

What's the problem with these Obama drones? Their ego's wont let them admit how WRONG they were.
