Good article, I like this part the best;
"President Roosevelt held his 1945 inaugural at the White House, making a short speech and serving guests cold chicken salad and plain pound cake," the two lawmakers wrote in a letter. "During World War I, President Wilson did not have any parties at his 1917 inaugural, saying that such festivities would be undignified."
The thinking was that, with the nation at war, excessive celebration was inappropriate. Four years later, the nation is still at war. Unemployment has risen sharply. And Obama pressed Congress to release the second half of a $700 billion bailout package in hopes of rescuing a faltering banking industry.
In a down economy, scaling back would of been the right thing to do. And he would of received a lot of praise for it.
Please vote Republican in 2012, America can not sustain another 4 years
of Liberal policies that are fiscally and socially destroying the country..
So you think to much?
do you have numbers to share or a comment to make?with some estimates reaching as high as $150 million.
blind links with no comments don't help progress this discussion.
These are estimates and by whom?
But I do agree that the money spent needs to be accounted for.
41 million from the PIC and some 5-7million recouped from sales of tv rights.
100+ million comes from ??? and taxpayers. Spent paying Americans doing a Security Jobs, hiring people to work and employ services for toilets, and etc.
(more goes here, but please do fill it in) I would love a full breakdown!
Money from bankers like Citigroup is more than likely the taxpayer money, but we don't know. There was no accountability / transparency in those bailout funds released.
But there damn well better be when Obama starts signing orders;
on that other 320 billion, and the upcoming 825+ Billion.
