I'm losing faith even in the smaller levels of our government.

I've been trying to contact my state senator's assistant for months now. At first, it was to discuss some laws and to see if some new ones could be introduced (bank-owned unites under a HOA sho9uld pay their association fees).

Then, a new piece of legislature came up (Florida is looking to remove its ban on breed specific legislation) and I wanted to speak to him at how this will not solve anything and it will just make legitimate dog owners live's harder (there are no bad breeds, just bad owners, breeders, and trainers).

Over the past couple of months I've made roughly 10 calls to his office, roughly 15-20 emails.

All I've gotten back from him are two emails saying "Feel free to call our office so I can talk to you about it" (and the number).

No correspondence, no serious responses. I guess a resident of the community that you allegedly represent isn't important enough to even call back or give something more than "call us" email?

He's always out of the office, traveling, on the phone, etc..

I guess it isn't just DC anymore, this disease of indifference to the people they're hired by to represent is spreading down to the state level.

You shouldn't be surprised about this Ed. local politicians now act just like their Washington counterparts. My Rep. in Congress is a lowlife POS named Dutch Rupersberger who never ever returns my phone calls especially when it comes to health care bill I oppose. The only thing I receive is a standard letter that every resident gets.

Honestly? I think if you want a response of any type from any one you have to take it viral.

Seems like when the spotlight is put on them from more than one direction they tend to respond.

Since Senator Jeremy Ring's assisstant has been acting this way, I did. I just posted on FB and I may even post it on some of my sites, too, as well as a site for posts like this.

I mean, we elected Senator Jeremy Ring and this is how his office treats the people who hired him? In the next election I'll be sure not to vote for Senator Jeremy Ring.
