Country: | Israel minister feared UK arrest Nice to know these women and child murderers are at least not sleeping in their beds that comfortably. Next up we need to stop Blair and Bush globetrotting, although Blair has the cheek of going for the EU Presidency, which he may well get . Probably exempted from arrest as well if he gets that.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/mid...st/8290554.stm More people waking up to this and more pressure is a good thang

Country: | "women and child murderers" Hmm okay then. Because it's not like Hamas, Hezbollah et al have done anything wrong. I.e. the recent war was started when Hamas fired 350+ rockets into Israel in a week. Half-way through the attacks Israel said stop else they'd attack. Hamas didn't stop, hence Israel attacked. Seems fair enough to me. Either Hamas forgot to read that 'note' from Israel, or they wanted Israel to attack. I wonder which. Then after a cease-fire deal was reached, Hamas broken it 48 hours later by trying to kill Israeli children, women and men. Funny how you don't mention that? Plus Hezbollah use their own citizens as Human shields. *shrugs* Not defending what Israel have done (which is clearly wrong at times; other times it's justified since Israel have said they'll attack but yet the rocket attacks keep coming), but it's completely biased to suggest that it's unprovoked. Given the chance Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran would do a lot more than 'minor' citizen attacks, I'm sure. And what has Blair done which is war-crime-esque-wrong, exactly?

im not saying just one side is right and have no probs with terrorists being taken out, but if theyre such tough guys why not send in a crack unit of israeli special forces to take him out. dropping a 'smart bomb' in a residential area and killing kids and women who are innocent is not what i call ok. if you feel you can turn a blind eye then please do.as far as human shileds, i know this practice goes on, thats where special forces go in. or should. dropping a bomb like that is not only cowardly and morally abhorrent , it also solves nothing. if these downtrodden people are not motivated enough, what happens when you have nothing apart from your kids in life and that is cruelly taken away from you like this. that childs family will make it their lifes quest to avenge it, the ones that aren't broken mentally and physically by it think about it. really think. i dont have a spare month Tristan, you either aren't up on current affairs or you're having me on

I quite agree that the situation is awful and that Israel have committed crimes, just like their neighbours. IMO the situation is FUBARed. Talk of a peace process is crap. The situation will only get worse, IMO, and unfortunately civilians from both sides will suffer. Neither side, IMO, care much for the welfare of the other side and both are in the wrong. Of course, Israel usually only strikes when it gets attacked, hence it is IMO a case that Hezbollah and Hamas attack Israel knowing full well that it'll create a war. Hezbollah and Hamas care much less for its own citizens than Israel does. This much seems clear. But I'm straying somewhat off-topic. I'm not defending some of the Israeli actions (merely saying that Hezbollah/Hamas/Iran seem a heck of a lot worse, but yet people only seem to 'moan' about Israel) Quote:
Edit: Oh sorry, didn't realise you simply meant Blair going for EU President. Yes, there was a lot of talk about that when the Lisbon Treaty was first moving ahead just after Blair left office. The recent news on this is in-fact old news.

For that matter, it seems every head of state over there in the US has some sort of credibility issue. Speaking of credibility...I am positive you will not be seeing Dubya acting as any sort of good-will ambassador. He probably doesn't feel very safe leaving his ranch in TX. | |
