It's offficial - voting doesn't matter anymore.

Florida (Broward county) voters approved (~80%) term limits for county commissioners back in 2000.

The courts shot it down - oh, wait, let me refrain, someone whose husband fell victim to it shot it down.

Does that sound like a conflict of interest??

I guess what I find amazing is that as a politician you know that the constituents have voted overwhelmingly in favor of limitations but you decide it is wrong anyway, so screw 'em.

It is no wonder that many times apathy sets in and people decide to just not vote as "it won't matter anyway". And this is the worst thing to do.
Use your vote to send a message to those that took that particular result away....believe me, others running for election will be watching and get the message.

Your vote is, and should be, your most powerful weapon. Don't let anyone think any different.

Trust me, I've been using that weapon ever since I turned 18 - never missed an election (with the exception of some primary elections).

I don't intend to stop voting but I do intend to try to vote this judge out next round. But then, they can just rule the vote was invalid.

I think the mood of the voters is that they are sick and tired of not being heard, as I think the last set of elections showed. I don't think that judge has a hope next time, especially if it is pointed out the effort they went to to have the constituents votes nullified. But I am sure someone opposing them won't let that be forgotten....
